In Vietnam, we Soviets clearly showed you that we had the military capability to destroy your overrated weak military. You sent in 180,000 troops and we sent 20,000 of them six feet under causing national embarassment in your so-called "superpower".

What are you talking about? The US voluntarily left Vietnam because it was an endlessly losing proposition.
The Soviets got defeated and bankrupted in Afghanistan by Islamic jihadists, aided by the US, and the Soviet Union no longer exists. We are still a superpower.

First let me say I am a V.N. vet and was against the war.
The reason that the US lost the war had little to do with the USSR and more to do with the fact that the war strategy was being set by politicians in Washington D.C. instead of the Generals, the difficulty in fighting a war against people who are trying to liberate their homeland from essentially a colonial power, and the jungle environment in Viet Nam.
The USSR found out how difficult it was to occupy a country with difficult terrain and people resolved to defeat them, in Afghanistan, if I remember correctly?
This defeat eventually led to the collapse of the Soviet Union, talk about embarrassing, eh?

The Soviets are a joke! If it wasn't for our GI's during WWII, you would be living in Germany. We should have wiped out the communists along with the Nazi's. You were both ruthless savages that murdered millions of innocent people.

Hay Ivan how was Afghanistan? They whipped your a sses for years over there. Lets see.....How long did it take for us to take the whole country?????A week... Maybe. The only way Russia ever wins a battle is to throw a million men at it and watch them die until they win or send for more. As for Russia being a super power...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Your technology is obsolete, your military is unfunded and demoralized, and Your country couldn't hold on to ANY of its territories. Dude, we Owned the soviet union. It has been flushed down the crapper with the rest of the socialist utopias. The soviet army sucked. What happened to them in Afghanistan? Their equipment was a bunch of garbage as well. Fighter jets with wooden components. Submarines that blew themselves up. Tanks that we used for target practice in Dessert Storm. Please!

Actually, the Democrats defunded our efforts about 2 weeks before we finished off the Vietcong. We never lost a single engagement in Nam. Learn some history.

We weren't allowed to fight the war properly due to armchair "politician generals" interference.
Kind of like early WW2 when Stalin bungled things badly at the start.
