In this country, the only people that are poor are the ones that choose to be poor. I am not saying that someone wakes up in the morning and wants to be poor. I am saying that people make decisions in their lives that lead them down that road. Study for school or party? Work or party? Do drugs or find a job? I do not believe that today in this country, there is not an excuse for anyone to be poor. Please do not bore me with the disabled and handicapped, they should be taken care of by their families.

Every day more and more people are finding out that our government was behind September 11th.
Will this blow up at some point and cause a catastrophe? How can anything come from the truth without bringing down the government, CIA and the rest of the web? Can it be brought down? Can a new government be installed without loosing everything?

The working poor

The working class - they are responsible for the production and refining and sale of every last commodity

Yet the "upper class " make all the money

Socialisim would only harm the do little take a lot rich who exploit the working class

So why is it that the working poor of America have been so brain washed as to accept capitolisim to such an extreme - and out of control extreme that only gets the rich richer and the poor poorer

I think that burning our flag is a heinous act, I do believe, however, that we should not ban this act.

Would this not be the Christian thing to do?

obviosly aren't? If I was anti-war I sure wouldn't give the president one more dime to fund it. However, the dems are rolling out cash to support the war until late '08 at least. If their reasoning for being anti-war is the loss of American lives, and we can't win over there then why fund it one more day. The only reason I can think of is all the sweet pork they can milk out of the budget. In essence all I'm getting out of this is that the Dem's are serving their best interest not ours. Now I know you are all probably just as shocked as I am (dripping with sarcasm.) So tell me Dem's and Libs what do you think of your brilliant plan to put the Dem's in control now? Are we better off for having Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid in control? Will you vote for less American interest and more personal gain for politicians in '08 also? I would really hope to get some answers out of Libs here and not a bunch of question dodging, party line, bull. Please answer honestly (if a Lib can.)

I slipped and fell in a major grocery store in a flooded aisle without proper sign posted, and have long-term disability and pain as a result. The store manager and stock boys who witnessed the accident made false accusations to protect the store. However there were 2 surveilence cameras in each aisle which, I'm positive, captured the accident.
Is it not my right to request this recording and is the defendant not obligated to release this evidence if requested?

I know he has the severe drug addiction problem, for which he historically wanted to sentence people to life without parole; but is drug addiction really just one sign of mental instability?
Does he really believe the things he says?
Do you?

I am relieved that he stuck around long enough to lose the US Senate for the Bush/GOP but hasn't America had enoguh?

This problem is exacerbated by the increasing number of National Guard members being deployed, and by the higher rate of divorce among military personnelle. Since the National Guard members tend to be older the are much more likely to have children, spouses, and ex-spouses, they are particularly vulnerable. I think this is a tough subject...who's right and who's wrong? Should the military spouse be penalized for doing their duty?

According to Forbes, "Per capita, the United States incarcerates approximately seven times more of its citizens than most Western societies. ......'

"The effects of this extend deeply into contemporary U.S. society:

Reintegration problems. Former inmates have difficulty obtaining employment, accessing housing, acquiring educational opportunities and avoiding further criminal activity.

New federal sanctions. However, welfare policy changes in 1996 applied additional sanctions to ex-felons that make it more difficult to avoid re-offending.

Community impact. Since over half of those now in prison have been convicted for non-violent crimes, new sanctions have helped precipitate a self-sustaining downward spiral in many minority communities."

Wouldn't we all be safer & better off with sentencing & parole reforms, improvements for incarcerated mentally ill, and more rehab programs?
