God made you; you wouldnt have any intelligence, or even exist without Him

religion does not assault intelligence. I've met many christians who're moral, open minded people, and many atheists who are horrible people. Kind of a paradox really... As a buddhist for years, buddhism apparently a religion as well, I see religion as a self actualization tool. Everything I do now is seen in broader perspective, after learning about my self, and the world we live in. If you don't want to be religious though, just take the philosophy behind the religion you like.

Do you mean 'insulted' my intelligence?

Well...
1) the Catholic church says its rehabilitating pedophiles
2) the Evangilicals are trying to suppress news on their BIGGEST leader using Meth and having cheap, gay sex.
3) the mormons have 'banned' underage marriage... haha
4) they have also stopped polygamy... sure
5) Muslims are blowing up the world
6) Jews are manipulating the world

Insulted my intelligence?

I think you were right - they assaulted it.

That prayer should be in schools, evolution should be banned, Jesus walked on water and risen from the dead, abortion is murder yet they support the war and are against the use of condoms. Religious people have things way backwards, and since becoming atheist I think I have raised my IQ.

Religion is only a subject similar to moral studies. It teaches us to do good and not bad. All religions are the same for me because if I can do good, it is sufficient. My opinions: http://redox.5gbfree.com/

I do not believe in religion of any kind; however, I certainly believe in God. One does not have to be an atheist if religion is of no importance.

I don't think religion has done that for me. Has it done that to you? Religion means to me some blind following of rituals that are meant to help in some way. True faith changes your life.

It's TRICKED me and SWINDLED me into trying to be a better father, be a better husband, buy a Christmas tree each year, hang lights on my house each year, buy my loved one's gifts, attend church to give thanks for the life that we have, and to celebrate the love I have for my family.

Yeah......religion has really screwed me over good.
