Are the Republicans actually going to nominate someone for President that isn't stupid?

I've been listening to the Republican candidates for President. Something out of the ordinary has happened. None of the top contenders seem stupid. Now don't get me wrong. The Democrats have more competent candidates. However, it looks like this time the Republicans have got some intelligence. We haven't had a truly intelligent Republican get their party's nomination since Nixon ( eventhough he had to resign ). Am I imagining things, or have the Republicans finally figured out that intelligence is a worthy characteristic to have for a President ?

According to the standards of the time, spies were hanged as illegal combatants. Both British Law and American Law ( Mostly based on British law) subsequently Hung them after a speedy Military Tribunal.

Why do democrats refuse to acknowledge that it was a Democrat Congress that had Kenneth Starr hired?

Why can Democrats not admit that Janet Reno hired the Special Prosecutor Robert B. Fiske to investigate Clinton in Janurary 1994.

And after the Democrat controlled Congress passed the Independent Counsel law in 1994.

Robert B. Fiske was replaced by Kenneth Starr in August 1994.

While Congress was still controlled by the Democrat Party.

The Republicans had nothing to do with Ken Starr being hired.

They might have demanded an investigation, but they certainly didn't have the power to start one in 1994.
