Why are we still using the electoral college system at all? Why shouldn't we switch to the popular vote? Shouldn't every single, individual vote count the same? Look at some of the past elections, some state's votes haven't even mattered. It's also so much easier to control voting districts in an attempt to fix elections. More people wanted Al Gore to be president but Bush won? How is that right? I also think that it would encourage more people to vote, knowing their vote counts as much as anyone elses.

What's your take on the subject?

Do they have a backup plan? There is much outcry against Bush for not having a withdrawl plan. What is the plan from the left when we leave and all hell breaks loose over there? Do we go back in or just ignor it. What happens when gas goes to $6.00? Are there plans for this or is their "plan" just to get up and leave?

We need to control the middle east because we need their oil to sustain our economy. Why do you people think this war was started in the first place?" Obviously he cannot say that but I bet it is driving him crazy that he can't just admit it and get on with it.

When Sgt Lynch was captured ( Or just before she was captured) we were told by the war supporters she stood up with a machine gun firing 30 rounds per second in a John Wayne stance and a Rambo look on her face as she screamed so loud she broke glass a mile away. The war supporters said they were so proud. Then the truth broke......Now we know...She didn't do any of that so why did the war supporters lie about her?

According to Sheryl Crowe's partner, Laurie David, "Sheryl reached out to touch his arm. Karl swung around and spat, 'Don't touch me.'"
Do you think that Rove might have been worried about Crowe's parsimonious use of TP?

Crowe had said U.S. isn't doing enough about global warming.
Rove said the U.S. is spending more on global warming research than any other country.

I agree with Rove that research is the most important thing we should be doing about global warming at this time.

On the issue of TP use, I think Crowe should use more than just 2 or 3 sheets after touching Rove (because of his slimy activities in election-rigging & war-mongering, even tho I agree with him on global warming.)

I've always considered myself both.

I like everything about the Democrats as far as how the government is ran, except for a few key issues that are mainly brought on by Libs.

I don't think all Democrats are Libs.

Doesn't everybody?

Limbaugh Feels VT Shooter "Had To Be A Liberal"
Media Matters for America has kept busy since shining the spotlight on Don Imus’ racist and sexist remarks about the Rutgers University women’s basketball team. Now they’ve heard radio Talk host Rush Limbaugh declare that the Virginia Tech killer “had to be a liberal.”According to a transcript Media Matters released of Limbaugh discussing the April 16 Virginia Tech shootings, the conservative Talk host says: "If this Virginia Tech shooter had an ideology, what do you think it was? This guy had to be a liberal. You start railing against the rich and all this other – this guy's a liberal. He was turned into a liberal somewhere along the line. So it's a liberal that committed this act. Now, the drive-bys will read on a website that I'm attacking liberalism by comparing this guy to them. That's exactly what they do every day, ladies and gentlemen. I'm just pointing out a fact. I am making no extrapolation; I'm just pointing it out. They try

Did Gw have anything to do with this?

Pat Tillman's brother accused the military Tuesday of "intentional falsehoods" and "deliberate and careful misrepresentations" in portraying the football star's death in Afghanistan as the result of heroic engagement with the enemy instead of friendly fire.

"We believe this narrative was intended to deceive the family but more importantly the American public," Kevin Tillman told a House Government Reform and Oversight Committee hearing. "Pat's death was clearly the result of fratricide," he said.

I thought it was a very timely movie that had some holes in it but all in all it showed what effects our civil liberties and the power of the government and the power of political motivations that is pervasive in everything. I think they just used Bush in it to get people's attention.

We live in Georgia with my husband's two children, they live with us basically full time even though it's stated as joint custody (ultimately we fully support them). Their bio mom lives in Florida (that's what court system we deal with when fighting her). My husband wants to refuse her visitation this summer (they're supposed to go down there by court order) but we're not going to send them down (we have good reasons)

So, IF he kept them and is just waiting for her to file so we can go back to court can they come and arrest him for contempt?? Or will we just have to wait for the suponea (spelling?) and then go to court on why we refused her visitation and broke court order?

I want to fight her on visitation I just don't want them to arrest him and haul him off to Florida. We've got a lawyer but he hasn't called back today and I'm impatient.

Does anyone have any idea what happens if you refuse a parent to see their kids?

Let's talk professional ice hockey.

Poor Buffalo is the hard-luck kid of any major American city. Their football Bills lose 4 straight Super-Bowls in a row--one over a lousy bad kick. The Sabres lose in the NHL Stanley Cup finals to Dallas in 1999 after endless periods of overtime due to a highly controversial goal.

With the advent of deindustrialisation, this once huge manufacturing city of Buffalo in the last 27 years has lost more in population and jobs than any other region in the USA. The Siberian winters are legendary, yet the native Buffalonians keep taking it like a punchy boxer in the final round of a blood fest.

If you could invision what Ewan MacColl had in mind when he wrote the folk song, "Dirty Old Town," you'd immediately think of Buffalo.

Poor ol' Buffalo, New York.

Hey, I know I'm rooting for these guys.

PS I like the old retro uniforms the best and the new blue and gold are catchy too. Anyway, Buffalo, good luck. The world will be watching.

Obama or Clinton?
I personally think that Obama doesn't have enough experience in the political arena.
I would choose Hiliery, she's been in the white house before and what about Bill being called the the first man.
But I don't think we ready for either of them.

(FYI) I'm an African American and a woman, for all you haters.

This seems to be the "Bush" way and the "War supporters" way. The military should be ashamed!

There is a lot in the press about conservation measures that americans can take which are, well, a little crazy. Plastic bags, for example: fact is in a waste fills there is little to no oxygen, that said, whether a grocery bag is plastic, or paper, makes little difference as neither product will break down given the airless conditions present. Crowe's comments are silly, really, as, paper waste breaks down easily, and, is made from a renewable source. When such measures gets press, it is sad, because real conservation around the world is vital, and, is underminded by such banal banter that the conservation mission is unserved, and, even undermined.
