There is a lot in the press about conservation measures that americans can take which are, well, a little crazy. Plastic bags, for example: fact is in a waste fills there is little to no oxygen, that said, whether a grocery bag is plastic, or paper, makes little difference as neither product will break down given the airless conditions present. Crowe's comments are silly, really, as, paper waste breaks down easily, and, is made from a renewable source. When such measures gets press, it is sad, because real conservation around the world is vital, and, is underminded by such banal banter that the conservation mission is unserved, and, even undermined.

I agree with you. Most of this conservation talk in the media, even if it was followed by most people would probably not a accomplish much. We should be focused on things that will actually make a difference in the long run.
