Did Gw have anything to do with this?

Pat Tillman's brother accused the military Tuesday of "intentional falsehoods" and "deliberate and careful misrepresentations" in portraying the football star's death in Afghanistan as the result of heroic engagement with the enemy instead of friendly fire.

"We believe this narrative was intended to deceive the family but more importantly the American public," Kevin Tillman told a House Government Reform and Oversight Committee hearing. "Pat's death was clearly the result of fratricide," he said.

lol @ ringshan. why is lying about friendly fire necessary? They lied cause like Tillmans brother said, they were trying to divert attention from torture at abu ghraib.

Good insight Mopp. But never the less you know they covered up the story so people would support the war still. Do you support the war, your on the ground and your brothers and sisters are dying, and what is the mission you guys are doing over there by the way.

From "they didn't tell us immediately how he died" he takes us to "Bush lied" and to "government coverup" and to "fratricide" (brother killing brother?).

It gets sillier and sillier.

You can trust the military. How wonderful that you condemn the entire organization based on this one delay in telling what happened.

I'm sure millions of brave men and women would like to show you how they feel about that.

Those who can't do? Insult those who can.

This is the inevitable result of what happens when politicians control the military. Tillman's death was a political football (no pun intended) first used by the administration. Now his death is being used by the opposition party for political gain. What does Tillman, the army or the truth matter? Not jack sh#%

What in the hell makes you think you can trust military command?

It's common knowledge that one of the common things about Vietnam was reporting that 2 soldiers died when 15 died, because nobody would ever know as long as those soldiers were not from the same unit or what not.

But you know what? **** happens in the military. If more people would quit being ******* and join the military then we wouldn't have to resort to getting these dumbshits behind these guns that we have today. There is one guy in my unit who is about as dumb as they come and some idiot in command put him on a M249 SAW that's VERY easily misfired and when the things starts firing, it doesn't stop.

But even so. Does it really matter? The military is a dangerous place. Soldiers know this before they even sign up. Why can't the American people figure this out?

Being a veteran, I always trusted my brothers in arms, that being the other soldiers in the field with me, the sergeants, the platoon leader and the company commander. After that my trust waned especially with the higher ups (Lt Colonels and above all the way up to General) See these guys didn't really care about the guys in the field, they were more interested in furthering their career with body counts and at our expense, the average grunt. But yes, I do trust our military especially the fighting arms of each service.

It is highly insulting and dishonorable for anyone to say that "sometimes lies are necessary" to defend this dishonorable and horrible deception.

I am ashamed of any vet who would defend this lie being told to a fallen soldier's family. I hope the vet who made that remark will realize how wrong he is and take it back.

Did it do his family any good to be told a lie to later find out the truth? No, instead his family's pain and suffering were increased and rather than being allowed closure, they instead had to fight and endure through a messy political battle just to know the truth about what happen to their loved one. Is that how you honor a fallen soldier? By torturing his family?

No one wants to be told a lie about how a loved one died. No one wants to be told a lie period. Lies are destructive, they are immoral, and they are the devil's tool.

In the corrupt world we live in, you can trust God and very few others. Choose who you trust very carefully.

If you were the family, would you rather be told your son or brother died heroically, or got blown away by a teammate accidentally? Sometimes lies are necessary.
