Is it possible to join the U.S. marine corps if I currently live in Canada? Do I have to first apply for U.S. citizenship before driving down to a recruiter?

And I'll admit a very tough one for anyone to answer:

If terrorists have in their disposal numerous suitcase bombs and they blow one up one in an American city killing 20,000 people, what do you do?

Do you just forget what Jesus said about loving your enemies, turning the other cheek, and fighting evil with good, and instead quote the Old Testament and just nuke the entire middle east? Do you wage a holy total war killing nearly a billion muslims to finally end the threat?

This is a tough question no doubt. I'm just wondering if you would put aside your christian beliefs and rationalize genocide by quoting the Old Testament instead.

The Texas Legislature its on way to approve a bill that would give the people the right to use deadly force against individuals who try to aggravate them outside of their home. Until now, the Castle Doctrine only allows the use of deadly force when being attacked at home. In other wiords, up untill now, the castle doctrine, which dates back into the old west era, allowed for person to use deadly force against anyone who tried to break in their home, without having to prove they tried to retreat, If the attack was anyplace outside their home, they had to prove they tried to retreat, or else they would be charged with manslaughter at least, what the NEW castle doctrine pretends is to allow the use of deadly force to be used anywhere without that person having to prove he tried to back down..... I think this bill is wrong & should not become the law, because it will cause prosecutors headaches when trying to prosecute murderers who did it willingly, What do you think?

My buddy lives in Houston, TX, and he was charged w/ misdemeanor & convicted back in 2004 for assaulting his wife, (2'nd marriage.) In 12/2006 he was arrested & charged w/ 2'nd misdemeanor - assault/bodily injury f/ assaulting wife, (2'nd marriage.) Bond set @ $5K, he paid $500 & released from jail. He received a 3'rd charge (FELONY) - assault w/deadly weapon in 2/2007, (2'nd marriage.) Bond $$ for the 2'nd misdemeanor was enhanced to a FELONY @ $50K. He was charged - 3r'd time (FELONY) in 2/2007 - assault w/ deadly weapon, (2'nd marriage.) Bond set at $0 bond. He's still in jail. Arraingment is set in a week or so in court.
NOTE: He's been in jail & prison in the past, i.e. possession of drugs, selling drugs, traffic tickets, welfare fraud, bad checks, domestic violence/1'st marraiage. I think his fate will depend a lot on the prosecutor, judge & criminal history. So, what's the likelihood he'll get probation or end up in prison? If he goes 2 prison, what's the min/max time?

Has that REALLY not occurred to you?

Don't you realize you empower people by giving them attention?

Then why are they used in 10 different Olympic sporting events? Judging by this, it would appear that they are no more than tools used in sports, no different from baseball bats or golf clubs, (hmm...those are also used as weapons). Maybe we should ban all sports that use equipment such as these to stop violence, leaving only sports where your hands are used? Oh, wait...those are weapons too! Maybe it's just people that cause violence, what do you think?

Does it take as long to become a Canadian permanent resident, as it does to become a skilled worker there? Like can I just go live there and work in the U.S until I become a citizen if decided to? I heard that it can take 5 years to become a skilled worker.

If you don't know what the hell you're talking about, why not just keep your mouth shut instead of making a fool of yourself? If you're going to say something, make sure its actually true!

This is a response to my question/answer debunking the Churchill said "if you're a conservative at 25 you have no heart, a liberal at 35 you have no brain" lie.

"There is no such thing as a conservative or liberal party in England.... now or during WWII.

So your "fact" about Churchill is truly an "opinion" regarding his political leanings within the construct of the government he served."

The FACT is that there was and is a "Conservative Party" in England. That's the name of the party: the "CONSERVATIVE PARTY." There also used to be a "Liberal Party." These two parties dominated in 1930s England. The original "Liberal Party" has now become the "Liberal Democrat" party.

Do they love having people serve them yet hold this disdain for the mostly lower-middle class troops that they champion?

We already know that many liberals associate military people with policies they despise, but there is also a deep-seated psychological hatred of those who we ask to do our dirty work, in my opinion. I think it's very real, exists across the board, and it's wrong.
