And I'll admit a very tough one for anyone to answer:

If terrorists have in their disposal numerous suitcase bombs and they blow one up one in an American city killing 20,000 people, what do you do?

Do you just forget what Jesus said about loving your enemies, turning the other cheek, and fighting evil with good, and instead quote the Old Testament and just nuke the entire middle east? Do you wage a holy total war killing nearly a billion muslims to finally end the threat?

This is a tough question no doubt. I'm just wondering if you would put aside your christian beliefs and rationalize genocide by quoting the Old Testament instead.

Oh brother, I never said this was an easy question. I don't know what I would do. It's not like playing a video game where you mess up you can reset and start all over. If you take an action and it results in a bigger mess, you're screwed. It requires lots of thinking to figure out all the possible consequences of doing one thing instead of another.

I'm just wondering, what scripture would a christian believer use to justify killing millions if not billions because a few terrorists killed thousands of us?

Can you point out any scripture in the gospels?

Jesus does not want you to be dumb. He did not say "let the other guy KILL you".

Your right it is a tough question but what I hope I would do is to find out who was directly responsible for the bombs and bring them to justice (Yes a fair trial where they get to challenge the evidence). If they were in a hostile country and being protected then I would think I would have the moral authority to go get them. If I am met with resistance I would quell that resistance until I was able to detain ALL those responsible for the suitcase bombs. Targeting a civilian population would be off limits and I would hope innocent people would not be harmed. If I were to invade a country I would not simply sprint to the capitol. I would however, take small manageable areas and secure them as I go. This would be a painstakingly long process but the time spent making certain the civilian population we just encroached is safe and secure would pay huge dividends in my search for those responsible. Problem these days is that the American people want everything to take place between commercials.

Psalms 9:17- The wicked shall be turned into hell.

Luke 19:27- But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay [them] before me.

The "Thou shalt not kill" commandment is a mistranslation. In Hebrew it reads "Thou shalt not murder", big difference. The terrorists from the Middle East killing Americans are doing so because America is seen as Christian to them and our support of Israel. So to me, killing Muslim terrorists seems justified by God.

Genocide is not warranted when your enemy are radical extremists spread across the globe ... if we were talking about a state attacking, then certainly such an option is on the table, though you wouldn't need to wipe out an entire state, only scare them. But these terrorists you speak of come from everywhere, even Europe and the US.

Listen, in this day and age if we don't fight the Islamic Extremist, it won't matter what Jesus said.... Because everyone in the world will be killed by THEM.... They want Armageddon... Its not about "Christian" vs "Muslim". Its about the safety of the world against these nuts running several Arab countries in the Middle East.

Would you have it that we do nothing and allow them to kill more. Let us say that there are children among the 20,000. Jesus also said to do no harm to the little ones. Should we ignore that or try to stop those that kill children.

I have a feeling that this war is more about money than religion.

But... nuclear weapons are a quick reminder that people need to stop talking about the US being weak. No seriously we have been very patient not using them. And some might say that we have killed more people by ddrawing this out for so long.

Man I hate rummy, seriously, who thought he had a good plan. You always go in strong and then lighten up. you don't keep the good stuff in the barn. Ok I'll stop, I am just rambling now.........

One of the benefits of being a former Christian who converted to Judaism is that I am no longer supposed to love my enemies and pray for them. I am only obligated to treat my enemies fairly. If I got to lay down a swath of destruction 10 miles wide, I just got to try and be fair about it. The punishment must fit the crime, not exceed but only has to be no greater than the crime itself. Mercy allows it to be less, but justice allows it to be up to the size of the crime itself. Attempt to kill me and my family? Well, that allows me to do the same. I just tend not to miss.

I am not conservative Christian but I will take a stab at it. Nuke the hell out of them. If you don't, you will always live with the fear that they will do it again, hence you just became their slave. I do not think that Christ would condone any type of subjugation.

OK, what if a Christian told you that God gave him free will and legs to run from his enemies or to stand up against them and smite them....?
