no most insects practice war as well. the common ant was very efficient at war way before man showed his face. now man has practiced war over the last five thousand years. the excuses for war have been all the following honor(both country and king.) food, oil, land religion but the oddest was the thousand year war in Europe. the war was begin over a water bucket on the borders between Spain and France. by the time the war came to an end no one remember why it begin.

War spawns from hostility between two entities. War is about attacking and defending for a purpose. It is in the nature of every species on this earth to act this way, humans just have more powerful ways to go about it. It's just nature.

Yes and religion normally. Its what causes most wars. Wonder what would happen if women were in charge? We wouldn't have wars. Just arguments with other countries once a month. The american president would argue with the Iraqi president and people would ask why and she would say oh I just didn't like her dress!! lol
Yes I'm joking................jeeez

Of course it is, but chimps also wage war, and one would imagine theirs is an independent invention.

Go to the plains of Africa. Watch lions battle for supremacy of the pride. Then ask yourself the same question.
Then watch the same pride who lords over a water hole during the dry season fight off another pride who wants to lord over that water hole. Then ask yourself the same question.

as opposed to it coming from God?????? either can be argued but check the bible. while he says thou shalt not kill he has no problems sending out armies of humans to kill other humans who piss him off rather than do his own dirty work. war stems from the human instinct for survival as much as for conquest along with using religion to sanctify it.
Vin
PS just a thought but animals make war on each other. martial art styles developed from watching animals so it's not a uniquely human endeavor.
