The biggest issue for voters in 2006 was the war in Iraq...

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2006/special/issues/

The Dems. who for the most part took a stance of getting us out of the war won both the House and Senate majority...

Therefore,

If Bush ignores this mandate (in the form of vetoing the bill recently passed by Congress to compel our troops to leave Iraq by Sept of next year), is he acting like a leader of a democracy or a dictator? Or in his words "a decider".

"I hear the voices, and I read the front page, and I know the speculation. But I'm the decider, and I decide what is best"
---President George W. Bush 2004

So, am I coming to a logical conclusion?

an army and marine corps thing. my idea is, the govt should hire "undercover spies" to pose as recruits to curb basic training brutality, especially the marine corps. how many of u agree? wouldnt cost much to hire two " recruits" in each armed service basic training regimen

I posted another question here about obtaining an alien registration # for my wife. I will soon start the immigration process to bring her here to the U.S. and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience in this area, and if so what were the steps that you've taken? I have a lot of misinformation it seems on the necessary steps to bring her here, please someone help me clear this up!

My question pertained to whether slavery was to blame for the number of police complaints by black offenders to have been substianted only 8 times out of 713- 1.13% substantiated.
from the Government statistics found here:
http://www.blink.org.uk/subcat.asp?key=199&grp=55

Furthermore, black activist Ken Barnes stated that, "..."This even affects the way black people today perceive themselves. Ask people what it is to be black. Black is associated with rap music, with being lazy and uninterested in society. These are traceable back to the racism of slavery." from below.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6456765.stm

Therefore, the question was to generate debate on whether slavery can be a justifiable reason for lying to the police.
What are your views?

I will soon start the immigration process to bring my wife to the U.S. from South America, and some of the documents I have encountered require an alien registration #. Does anyone know how I can obtain this for her? Thanks

Here is some info that you may or may not be aware of:

Cheney was CEO of Haliburton, the USA's biggest defense contractor, before being elected Vice President and still owns lots of Haliburton stock. Haliburton has made record profits since Cheney became Vice President.

Carl Rove was implicated in the Watergate scandal but investigators went after "bigger" fish instead.

George W. Bush at one time was president of the Texas Rangers (the baseball team). The Rangers didn't do very well then either...

Black on Black, and Arab on Black slavery existed before during and after the European/US slavery. It was only the British, and later the US that put a stop to it. The British should be proud that they were the only peoples to raise the issue of banning slavery, While the Africans and Arabs carried on with it very happily right up to modern times

the last two presidents have been draft dodgers. clinton went to canada and bush had daddy sign papers to get out of going to veitnam. both of wich have not seemed to do much good for the country. I'm not a kerry fan at all but he actually went to war. so his opinion means more than both of these two combined. but he chucked his metals. that to me is an insult also to this nation(my oppinion not the point) what is left for this country. my as a youth saw an adultery leader. and now as a young adult were in a "war" against terrorism. ideas fuel terrorism and ideas can not be beaten. neither president will truely be held acountable so what is left

interests to stay in? There was an obvious mandate by the people when the Dems won control of the House and Senate...to get us out of the war. Now that the House has passed a bill to get us out of the war by Sept. of next year...Bush is accusing the Dems. of political theater and is most likely going to brush off his rarely used veto stamp? So, is Bush insulting us by scoffing at the will of the people? What do you think about his hijacking of our democracy? And do you feel his actions reflect that of a leader of a democracy or that of a dictator? Do you think that his vetoing of this bill will hurt or help Republican chances in 2008?

This seems to be a very nasty bus driver. She says alot of mean things about disabled people.

She says, "What gets me is half of them are making it up anyway. They don't really have anything wrong with them.

Things like, "Why should my taxes pay for them?"

This one really kills me. She says, "You should see what this so called disabled person did the other day just to make me feel sorry for her!"

I wonder if it ever occurs to her that they, the disabled people, along with many or most of the other people in this world don't really care about her personal opinions or feelings toward them.

The disabled people simply have a right not to be harassed by her. I see that as very different than wanting her pity, or anything else from her.

And she does follow all this up with further harrassment! By making the bus go slower, or a bit faster when they are trying to walk through. Letting it slide as they are getting off. What can they do?

it's bad enough that the colonial nazis hve invaded iraq and turned a peacefull sovergn country into a murderous lawless corrupt country. If you look at the history of the colonial nazi countries in iraq, the u.s, australia, canada well you don't need to look far considering thier murderous nazi history, they are not fit enough to make decisons on other countries, if you start of with the u.s,they wiped out tribes of red indians into instinction and they still oppress them by takeing away thier land rights, and all the wars they hve fought have been mostly againts non white countries, only germany and serbia were white, then we got australia, they have murdered indegnious people and stole their homeland and taken away thier rights, then we got canada, they too stole land from the indians after massacreing millions of them, then the u.k well thier colonial history says it all specialy with the slave trade.HITLER KILLED JEWS AND GYPSIES,THE COLONIAL NAZI'S HAVE AND STILL KILLING NON WHITES.
