I thought I heard Bush say the US went to get rid of the dictatator Saddam to help the Iraqi people and save the world from his evil....over 20 years after the supposed killing of the 1980's. Here is a serious problem NOW. So why not the same love from America? HA HA

It is not just the United States that are ignoring Darfur, the majority of the international community are ignoring the situation.

They haven't. This lays at the feet of the U.N The U.S. has been trying to get the U.N. to act but have been voted down by China, Russia and France.Darfur has oil and China is working to drill and build refineries there.

Additional: For Michaels above. Aids originated in Africa and this White House has sent more money for AIDS in Africa than any President before him or any other country. Just making up answers does not work.

Africa has been plagued with wars/famine since time immemorial! Where do we get the troops for this situation. I see it as Africa having a huge over population, many stricken with aids and tribal rivalry....this is all internal stuff relative to each country in Africa. Terrorism is what we are fighting w/ regards to Iraq.

Heres your answer, we are hated by everyone, though we give out more in foreign aid then anyone. Whenever we go somewhere to help we are stabbed in the back and treated as criminals. Screw Darfur, Screw Aids in Africa. We have enough problems at home.

We get our sh1t straight then we maybe help again. We should cut off all foreign aid and then see who hates america.

It's sad that the AU(African Union) can't be counted on to aid this situation. The US has brought this up in the UN but others didn't want to use their military outside their own interests and US alone can't do what it would take. The UN was I thought the ones to admonish nations for world peace but don't really do that. Makes one wonder what they actually exist for. These killers really like slaughtering helpless victims.

For the same reason we are allowing the entire continent of African people to die of aids, which we gave them in the first place. The world community has written off Africa, and unless their problems spill over beyond their continental borders, nothing will ever be done. This is the major shame of our time.

We don't have the troops to go there right now. We had to bribe Ethiopia to take care of the problem in Somalia. We are begging CHina to help us with some of these problems.
