yeah pretty self explainitry really under what circumstances would the uk/usa force you to abort your baby? this could include mental health reasons or self harm etc but is it possible if you are stable ,still getting help and no longer put your baby/yourself at risk to keep the child without being forced to get rid of it.

In the US, the answer is a resounding NO....you can't be legally forced to have an abortion.

And after reading "Smoothso.....'s" answer I feel really bad for her........You are forced to have an abortion because THEY won't pay for the baby? Who is they? Am I supposed to pay for your babies? I have my own two children to support!

Try using birth control if your desire is not to have a child. THEY will pay for that my friend!

In America, Yes. That is pretty close, or as close to the real truth as you can get.

I don't think they can force it. Here is how it works. They simply say they are not going to pay for the baby. Well, then, what else can you do?

I guess if you can think of something quick enough, or know someone that can help you, or have the baby adopted or something.

It's pretty hard, really hard, though. Cause' you see, everything is really connected in a way.

If you are in the system so deep that they also cover you're housing, food stamps, and many other circumstances, plus the job you may already have, that is a very difficult situation.

Even though they are supposed to be all separate offices so that this doesn't happen, really. To some extent it all may be still combined.

It is a very hard situation for someone to have to face, I know. Sometimes legal services can help, I guess. But they work for the state, too.

Not to get too long winded, we have just simply given to much of our personal power as people over to our government. And that can be a very slippery slope, ya know? In Amerca and in England, I would think.

I know of unstable mentally ill pregnant ladies- they carried their pregancy to term -sometimes spending extra time in the hospital in times of need-and in some cases decided to give the child up for adoption-in once case the mother couldnt even recall or cared that she'd had a child a few hours later. IN other cases they kept the child but haad family involvement and help. So even in severe cases, no abortion had been done so I doubt even in extreme cases you could be "forced" to have an abortion. This is more likely tohappen in China I understand.

No one can force you to have an abortion. People choose, for different reasons, to have abortions and there are some doctors who will still do them.
