Does it take as long to become a Canadian permanent resident, as it does to become a skilled worker there? Like can I just go live there and work in the U.S until I become a citizen if decided to? I heard that it can take 5 years to become a skilled worker.

kittycat I wasnt sure I had heard that you can becuase citizens can. I do not have 5 years to wait to move to Canada...

I applied for canadian citizenship nearly 2 years ago.I am married to a canadian & I'm still waiting!!!!!!!!

err you can't go and work in the U.S. if you want to become a Canadian permanent resident.
