FIRST OF ALL, wait don't call me illegal or Mexican because I'm none of them. But I'm an exchange student and I'm learning about the history of the US. OK white people are not native to North America Nor South or Any part of the American continent. It was Britain, France, Spain, Portugal who brought them here. Then they learned from American Indians how to live here, how to survive.
After killing most of the natives, they had the land all for themselves, now a couple of hundreds later some say that "Mexicans" are invading their land, taking their jobs and stealing their money. EVEN FROM ANCIENT TIMES PEOPLE HAVE SAID "DON'T DO OTHERS WHAT YOU DON'T WANT TO BE DONE TO YOU" AND "WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND". Loook history.

The public in general is not aware that:

If a servicemember has 20 years of service, breaks a leg in a softball game (and it affects their mobility), they get *ALL* retirement pay *AND* VA compensation.

But if they fall off a tank while reparing it and are paralyzed, but have less than 20 years of service they are *REQUIRED TO FORFIET* retirement pay if they accept VA compensation. (with some rare insignificant exceptions)

Shouldn't a 25 year-old with, say, six years of service get their six years worth of retirement pay? (about $200 a month)

Private companies are required by law to "vest" employees after participating 5 years in a retirement fund. But not the government.

Doesn't the paralyzed 25 year old NEED the extra money, where the 20 year "full" retiree with a limp could probably get by without the VA compensation ($200-$300 monthly)

The public doesn't know this. Even MOST congressmen don't realize it works this way. If they did I KNOW they would be outraged.

I'm supporting Ron PAUL in 2008. But, Omit the characters in this political spot including the candidate this spot aledgedly belongs to and consider the real message. I think any of the top candidates in either party can be substituted for the one depicted!

I had a Dodge Neon stolen in September of 2006. It was recovered 4 days later. The police caught the alleged car thief because he ran a red light and they made a routine traffic stop. They arrested the driver and then called me to pick up my vehicle. The police then mailed me paperwork with the criminal's name, and indicating I would be notified if the guy who was arrested was out on bail, or if he was going to court. I have heard nothing from police or the courts since then. Do you think this guy is really sitting in jail this long and hasn't gone to court yet? I would think the police would want me to testify in court eventually. Should I expect to hear anything after this much time has passed?

More than 3000 U.S. soldiers have died in the past 4 years in Iraq. THe majority of these men and woman being under 20..
They are just kids and they are bleeding for you and me. They don't complain..they signed up to keep freedom free for you and me. Do you know how many out of the millions of americans make a sacrifice and join the army? Less than 1%. These people and their families are the ones sacrificing for our(US) country. Do they not deserve a thanks? When they return they see signs of pull the troops out of iraq. The war is for nothing.
Their brothers have bleed in iraq..and i'm sure it doesnt feel good when the majority of the population does not believe its for a reason. Thanks for the answers

Iranian general warns enemy not to make any crazy moves

Tehran Times Political Desk
TEHRAN -- Army Commander Major General Ataollah Salehi said here on Friday that if the bullying enemy wants to do something “crazy” it will surely be surprised by the firing power of the Iranian armed forces.

“Now, Iran’s defensive abilities are incomparable to the time of the Sacred Defense (1980-88 Iran-Iraq war),” Salehi said at a ceremony held for inaugurating the new projects of army ground forces.
The Iranian military has developed a new air defense system with a boosted ability to hit targets by firing two missiles simultaneously, AFP quoted Iranian state radio as saying.

“This new air defense system which can shoot one or two missiles simultaneously... has been designed by army ground forces and tested successfully,” the radio said.

Ok heres the WHOLE story. 5 years ago I was fired for stealing something from Home Depot. To this day, I regret it, It was the only thing I have ever stolen in my life. My questions is, ever since then I have been going to school, but now I want to apply for a job but am very nervous about putting down on my application that I was let go due to taking something from the store. So what do you think? Is it on my record? Am I doomed for the rest of my life, to never get hired for a job due to this mistake in my life?

Could they let it slide if they get something big in return? Would it be similar to the Missouri comprimise negociated by Henrey Clay that averted the civil war for years? Maybe they could trade dropping the investigation of him for something like much improved enviromental protection? A big real serious effort to stop and fix global warming ASAP? Passing laws that actually quickly convert to Green Energy and achieve Energy Independence?, higher fuel efficiency standerds for planes, trains, big rigs, and cars and trucks? Species and Habit protection? A ban on the dirtiest technologies if replacible with cleaner? A law to phase out the sale of incandencent lightbulbs for new more efficient replacements? An honest real closed or open door debate in the full senate and house that actually finds the best possible solution that can be thought up for how to make the most possible out of Iraq and Afganistan and get out of there as gracefully, successfully and quickly as possible?
