FIRST OF ALL, wait don't call me illegal or Mexican because I'm none of them. But I'm an exchange student and I'm learning about the history of the US. OK white people are not native to North America Nor South or Any part of the American continent. It was Britain, France, Spain, Portugal who brought them here. Then they learned from American Indians how to live here, how to survive.
After killing most of the natives, they had the land all for themselves, now a couple of hundreds later some say that "Mexicans" are invading their land, taking their jobs and stealing their money. EVEN FROM ANCIENT TIMES PEOPLE HAVE SAID "DON'T DO OTHERS WHAT YOU DON'T WANT TO BE DONE TO YOU" AND "WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND". Loook history.

OK what got me mad is that some people are so ignorant, today somebody told me that I didn't pay taxes, that i was illegal and that I was Mexican. Sometimes people assume I don't speak English, when I speak two more languages. And I'm sorry to tell you that most of the time it's white people. Yeah even though some of them seem nice, they aren't. And yeah I came here just to study, and when I leave I'm going to have a really bad impression about this "Land of opportunity."

Ok I am just stunned at how many ignorant racist people there is on here? Is it really a crime to feed your family??Or to pick up chicken guts??Do you people really think that when you die its just gonna be AMERICANS in heaven? Please!! Where is your hearts? Not everyone is lucky enough to be born here in the U.S. Do you realize how hard and expensive it is to get here legally? Probably not! How in the hell do you expect these "PEOPLE" to pay for it when they cant even get a job?? DUH!!! I am ashamed that we Americans could even say things like kill them. They are people my god!! This question is so tired, it isn't even funny, it's so tired.
As others have told you here, we are NOT against immigration. We are against people coming here illegally, bypassing the normal routine and checks and jumping ahead of the people who are bothering to immigrate legally. We have always welcomed LEGAL immigrants wholeheartedly!
Actually, I'd be very interested in knowing what country you do come from. I would bet you that your own native country has some immigration laws, likely much harsher ones than does the USA and I also bet you that they enforce them much more rigidly than does the USA.
Frankly, I also find it quite repulsive that you are here, enjoying the hospitality of our country as an exchange student, and at the same time feel entitled to bash how our country treats illegal foreigners on our own soil. I think you are a very ungrateful visitor and so you should go home. Go be an exchange student in a country where you "approve" of their treatment of illegal immigrants. Good luck finding one! Most countries that I hear of that have not even half as bad a problem with illegal immigrants as we do, are much less welcoming of them. There are certainly not many, if any, left that endows their citizenship upon illegal immigrant babies born in their country, either. So, keep on telling me how mean we are. At the same time, tell me about other countries who welcome illegal immigrants and what they do for them that is so much nicer than the USA. I'd really like to hear what you have to say about that.

Well aj0101010101.....since you are an exchange student, and do not REALLY understand the political climate, and YOU are not a citizen of this country, I find it humorous that you would question us about our feelings of criminal interlopers in OUR country. How would you feel if I came to your home, one that you owned/paid for, decided it looked like a good place to land, stayed, brought my family, asked to be put on your health plan (at your cost of course), then said I wanted my kids to be educated on your dime, also informed you that I wanted language and cultural accomodations. When you started complaining and wanting me, a tresspasser in your home, to leave, I would start calling you a racist and all sorts of dirty names. I would then gather my family members together to march in your home, to let you know how unfair you were being about wanting me to respect all that YOU have worked so hard to pay for with your own efforts.
Am I making myself clear to you? Besides, the illegal aliens who are from Mexico, Central America or South America, who are of indigenous blood, are NOT native to anywhere within Americas modern borders. As well, when the Gadsen Purchase was made and the treaty signed, that was a done and paid deal. Now the people, in the least, of Mexico are crying foul all because they see WE Americans have made the area, their corrupt government, well over 100 years ago, sold to us, and is now succesful property. Now they are having sellers remorse.
Sorry too late. We do not owe them ANYTHING. Period. They owe us a tremendous debt for constantly putting up with their countries corruptions and as well their criminal act of crossing our border illegally, thus costing Americans millions of dollars.
Besides aj01010...., what makes you think that the only Americans who want illegal aliens out are white? Why do you only mention white people not being "native" to America, neither are those of African descent either, nor those of Asian descent, so why only mention "white"? Seems you have an issue with only white Americans, and to be honest, your argument seems VERY familiar to me, hmm.....from somewhere else.

Yeah the real issue is there has been soooo many illegal immigrants that are getting some kind of benefits (meaning WE pay for them) that people have become very cynical. You can't blame us can you? So many people have come here and they get medical benefits, welfare benefits or they come here to give birth so their child is a legal citizen. A HUGE number of Americans can't afford health care, and many have lost jobs or can't get a cost of living wage increase but they still have to pay their taxes which go to illegals!. It's a tough situation and makes people feel angry and like there's nothing they can do.

as has been said we do not have a problem with legal immigration it is the illegal immigration that we have a problem with, and if you are going to leave here with a bad impression of America why were we good enough for you to come here to study with maybe you should have stayed in your country and got your education

Because we came legally. Our country (not the natives except as American citizens after the country was founded) built the economy and fund the services and schools people want to come here to use. Poor immigrants most want to come here because we pay for education and services for poor people. Their better life is at our expense. More, when they come in such huge numbers as lately, they overcrowd schools to the point where our schools are failing to adequately educate our own children - and meanwhile WE are the ones paying for the schools.
We will always need and want immigraiton. However, the recent mass immigration of poor people illegally has huge consequences on our country, all of them bad, unless you are an employer paying unrealistically low wages knowing your work force is being subsidized by taxpayers through food stamps and other programs.

i am all for legal immigration. All of the people that live in this country have ancestors from other countries which is fine. Im all for keeping your heritage and keeping up traditions with your roots.
But i am against illegal immigration. Our country is founded on certain principles and laws. Right now it doesn't seem like they are being followed when it comes to immigrants, especially from mexico. Look at what is going on. Our country is in financial distress right now and it is highly impacted by illegal immigration. Our health care system, prisons, schools, and courts are all overwhelmed and in financial burdens right now due to illegal immigrants. But the main thing i have is doesn't illegal mean illegal. If i did something illegal and was caught i would have to suffer the consequences and pay for the actions of what i did. But the illegals don't. Actually, its the opposite and the people who are trying to enforce the laws of this country are the ones being prosecuted. Look at the border patrol agents who are in jail for doing their job. Look at the facts and how that trial went down and tell me there is not something wrong with that.
So i guess im saying im all for immigration to the united states, but only the legal way. I think we need to step up the security in this country and crack down on illegal immigration. It just amazes me how we don't care about all the people who are coming in the country, but have all of the security around flying. And finally, giving illegals credit cards??? i just can't believe bank of america!! you tell me this is not wrong. who will pay for this when the illegals default on their debts... we will!!! Everyone should boycott BOA and others who give benefits to people who are not even in this country legally....

The difference is "legal" immigration vs. "illegal". If it was your native country that had people illegally crossing the border, would you want it stopped? How would you feel if those same illegal aliens in your country gathered together to protest you wanting them sent back across the border by flying "their flag" instead of yours? Nobody is against legally coming into the USA to build a life for yourself - it is illegal crossing that nobody wants. If you can't follow our laws in order to come here, what makes anyone think that you will follow our laws when you are here. A criminal is a criminal is a criminal and illegal border crossing is criminal activity!

WE DO NOT HATE IMMIGRANTS. WE HATE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. They are breaking the LAW!!!
We (at least me and everyone I know) have no problem if you come here legally, pay taxes and work toward citizenship if you plan on staying.
We have a problem when you sneak across the border in the middle of the night with your pregnant wife, have the baby on welfare, work for cash under the table, pay no taxes, get food stamps anyway, get government housing assistance, but you are not a citizen. I think that pretty much sums it up.
Again, let me reiterate because I don't think you are getting the functional word here.
ILLEGAL
It all hinges on that.

We're not against immigration at all! We welcome those who want to assimilate into our culture and speak our language. Our division at the moment is regarding the influx of ILLEGAL immigrants who break our laws to come here, abuse our benefits, pay no taxes, are unregistered, and take our jobs. Come legally and pay taxes, learn our language, and we'll happpily hire you for those same jobs. But we have no problem with legal documented immigration. It's true though that we may have some distrust of arab immigrants in the current global climate... but that's because a few people spoiled it for everyone.

No one is saying that immigrants are no longer welcome here. But illegal aliens, and yes that is what they are by law, are not welcome now, and never will be. All we are asking is that all come here legally. And if your going to talk history, the native American indians did not even start out in the land. ------ Ok, and when you do go back, please please, tell everyone, to come to the U. S. A. legally, or not at all.
