I'm really willing to sacrifice everything just to be a part of this airline.

And I quote:

"But the republicans have always been a state's rights party whereas the democrats are a big government party. "
- For_Gondors

Really??? It is the Republican Party that has always been about state rights??? And here I thought it was the then southern Democratic Party that left the union over "state rights" and the northern Republican Party that was all about federal power.

I sure hope so, I'm a moderate, who was driven liberal by this current administration's tactics/corruption. He seems to have some really good ideas for America, and seems as if he is for the people...he's, well, different.

What are your opinions about him and his issues? And does a guy who seems to strive for the people even have a chance in this current political climate?

Why is he still the Prime Minister. My history teacher said recently she has no idea why people keep forgiving him and voting him in.

Consider the following:
TAMPA - children overboard; refugees
WMD - Weapons of Mass Destruction (War on Iraq; Pro-Bush)
Interest Rates and GST- He promised we'd have none
AWB - Australian Wheat Board Scandal (Saddam + Corruption)

And you know what? Why did the One Nation Party die?

That's because the Liberal Party just decided to adopt all their policies (like being racist) so there was no need for a One Nation Party! (Thanks to my english teacher)

It's a crying shame, he doesn't support public education, and as I attend a government selective school, he's NEVER going to receive my vote.

I consider myself patriotic, but not mindlessly so. I support those who have and are serving in the Armed Forces both materially, and by paying attention to political issues that affect veterans and voting accordingly. At the same time, I find myself blanching at the attitude of some who almost cheer for war, who speak of it as a glorious undertaking. I can't think of it, or of the things our men and women have to do for reasons I sometimes can't justify in my head or heart, nor the things some have to live with afterwards for the rest of their lives, as anything but tragedy. If anything positive can be gleaned from it, I feel it is due to the personal commitment of the men and women who are serving or have served, not due to any governmental policy involved with war itself. In some circles, I've been called everything from a traitor to a hippie to a commie for stating these opinions. How can honoring our troops enough to believe that their lives are precious be unpatriotic?

The figure of 650,000 Iraqi deaths since the start of the war has been so freely bandied about like it is fact. But that means on average 445 Iraqi's would have to die every day for 4 years to reach that number.

So has anyone seen a report of that many people in Iraq dying in one day? I hear reports of 18 people one day, 50 here, maybe a little over a hundred an a particularly brutal day. But where are the 445 daily deaths? If the press isn't reporting them, are they ignoring it? Or maybe that number should be suspect to begin with.

The Middle class is the most taken advantage of people in America. Rich people have nothing to worry about because of money. People who are supposed to be poor many of them are not thanks to the Middle Class. We have to work many hours when they get to collect their welfare checks with no time frame as to how long they can be on it. Thanks Goverment for encouraging these people to have more children as well. Pump out another kid more money for you. They will give them what is called section 8 housing were they don't have to pay to live there. If someone who has worked for 20 years of their life and gets laid off the goverment will not give you nothing. Only lazy people who refuse to do anything the goverment likes to give things to. I don't care Democrat or Republican it's all a big game can't you see. Think about it who ever is in office does your life ever change no it always stays the same.

When western and northern European countries have stock markets, private property laws, corporations, and spoiled brats and America has medicare, medicaid, and social security for the elderly and children, publicly owned schools and universities, GI Bills, student grants, subsidized loans, government regulation of industry, federally subsidized scientific research, unemployment insurance, overtime pay, 40 hour work weeks, environmental protection laws, food sanitation standards, work place safety, etc, etc, etc.

Conservatives like to pretend that it is either one or the other. The fact is most countries haved a mixed economy with both capitalist and socialist ideas. America happens to be plenty more on the socialist side then most third world countries. If you want to live in a country where the state has very little to do with the economy and pure capitalism is left unchecked, move to some primitive third world country. That is the closest you will get to "laisez-faire capitalism."

Hello everyone,

I am a 25 y/o male and a junior in college, and I would like to join the Army Reserve. I wanted to join after high school when I was 17 , but was reluctant, I know I am a bit old now, but it took me this long to mature enough to make this decision. I would like to leave for boot camp in June of 07 and im wondering how long I will be away, and how much I will be paid per month for my time at boot camp. Will I be back before september for the new school quarter? I emailed GoArmy.com but they never answered my email.

I also have to know how much I will be paid per month while I am away at boot camp, as I have a car payment and other bills that cannot be put on hold. Can anyone please help me?

I dont want to go down to the recruiting station to ask, as I do not want to be pressured into anything.

Dubya that is...he wants to do things his way or face a Constitutional showdown, and some Congressional Dems claim that they will not have it. I didn't realise that Dubya knew what the Constitution was, didn't he once refer to it as "some old paper"?

So...should Congressional Dems simply press ahead, or accept what Dubya wants to offer? Well...I'm hoping for a showdown myself.
