Anyone out there think that Brown should be made to face election bymthe Labour party rank and file members? Seems to me that MP's want to dictate to all all the time.

I don't think Brown should be elected at all, once Blair quits...and good riddance, the labour party should do the decent thing and call a general election, at least then, if they do get re-elected, they will know their leader has the support of the country. Politics by the back door is unfair and doesn't give the people of this country a chance to have their views heard.

Yes I do think Brown should face selection from his party membership and not just the Parliamentary Labour Party.

Problem is that all of this has happened before. Winston took over as PM without a vote in c1940. Just as well really because the choice of the Conservative gov of the time was for Lord Halifax. Who? Yeah! Exactly - scares the crap out of the krauts, right?

The party was voted in, and the party will vote Brown in so why not ? MPs can do what hey want because we don't get together and do something about it - let's start making a change in our situation.

I don't vote labour just in case you;re interested

100%, i never voted labour, but for all those who did voted Tony Blair for a full term, not Gordon Brown to be given the reigns because he his power hungry mid term.
Unless he is voted in I won't recognise him and i probably would barely recognise him as a leader if he is voted in, Scotland will be made richer and more money given to their education while England continues to crumble.
