What was so threatening about Victoria Teoensing's testimony?

Being one of the key people to help draft the Intelligence Identities Protection Act of 1982, Toensing has been retained by a number of media organizations to give commentary on the Plame Affair. In March 2005 Toensing authored an amicus curiae brief on behalf of Matt Cooper and Judith Miller, two journalists who were subpoenaed in the Valerie Plame investigation for refusing to reveal information obtained from confidential sources.

In the brief, she argued that "there exists ample evidence in the public record to cast serious doubt as to whether a crime has even been committed under the Intelligence Protection Act in the investigation underlying the attempts to secure testimony from Miller and Cooper."[citation needed] She also contended that Ms. Plame didn't have a cover to blow, citing a July 23, 2004 article in the Washington Times which argued that Valerie Plame's status as an

If Military law states that ‘Adultery is a crime’ and those found guilty will be court-martialed and jailed; then why has the former Command-in-Chief Bill Clinton got away Scott free then allowed to return to the White House under the auspicious of Mrs. Bill Clinton campaign?

I would think the feminist movement would have something to say and would be dissatisfied with Mrs. Bill Clinton’s willingness to accept this behavior from her husband. If she’s elected as President of the United States the first statement she’s making to American woman and wives are: “It’s okay for your husbands to disrespect you and commit adultery.” The second would be how low she thinks of herself for staying with a career adulterer and liar.

Is this the statement Mrs. Bill Clinton is making by running for the President of the United States?

It occured on your boy Bubbas watch with zero retaliation. The attack on a US Naval vessel is an act of war. Just one of many such incidents he neglected or ignored during his miserable 8 years in office. Seriously Libs, they dropped KSM in a dunk tank a few times - whooop de freakin' do! Oh yeah, and they keep Gitmo prisoners up at night with loud music and they play with the lights and the A/C - - - - any parent with pre-teen kids has experienced that! And the butt pyramids - those were silly and unprofessional but go to the back of the Boston Phoenix, people pay $250 an hour to have that DONE to them!

These you compare to beheadings.....

I know "we don't want to stoop to their level" but I'm just not seeing how we've done anything close to that.

They're PRISONERS. Yet we give them three squares, new Korans and prayer rugs and then they turn around and spit and throw feces at our guards, and our guards are not allowed to hit them.

They're treated better than criminal prisoners.

They're treated better in many respects than our own soldiers.

Most of them eat better than they did at home.

I just don't see that as torture.
