Im 16 and i live in North Carolina and i was wondering how hard it is to get emancipated?

In my experience anything that deals with a lawyer is pretty hard due to the expense.

If you are only 16 are you sure you want to be emancipated. When I was 16 there were plenty of times I wanted to emancipate. But now looking back I see the things my parents did were to keep me out of trouble.

I also had friends that had useless parents that didn't give five cents about their children, so if your in that basket then don't wait.

But if you are just arguing with the fam and life is pretty stable otherwise, weather the storm, you will have more than enough time to be emancipated after your 18. By the time your 25 you will wish you could go back.

Oh by the way I live in NC too.

Call child care. Seriously, if her father is doing that, than he shouldn't be aloud his freedom. If I were her friend, I'd call 911 the moment her dad picks up another beer. Try to not let her get hurt again, and I wish you two the best.
