Why is it when a man commits a sexual offense against a child, his average punishment is about 20 years in prison

YET

When a woman commits the EXACT same offense against a child of the exact same age, her average prison term is only 2 years???

I am comparing apples to apples here.

The ONLY difference being the gender of the person committing a crime.

in a society where you're given free education through 12th grade?

Seriously, all these people whining about "my job was outsourced to Mexico or Cambodia" - - - if some uneducated, barefoot, dirty peasant, living in a house made of mud with a thatch roof can do your job as well as you can, is that something you want everyone else to know?

Even the jobs going to India - call center, help desk - - you look at that as a career, something you should be able to support a family doing?

I know not all manufacturing jobs are the same - some of it is somewhat high-skill - - - those are the jobs that are typically kept; it's mostly the assembly and QC that's moved offshore.

That's basically sorting.

On what basis did you decide that you're entitled to a lifetime job with a salary on which you can raise a family, and benefits and a retirement plan, all for sorting things for 7 hours a day?

How did we get to a point where millions of us expect no more of themselves?

Does anyone working as a probation officer have an opinion on the job? Do you like it, whats the pay like, promotion prospects, how hard is the training etc....
Also is it a dangerous job at all, ive done quite a bit of research into the job but still cant get a clear idea of this aspect, do you ever feel intimidated by offenders, or have you been attacked? Im not an overly quiet person and i can be very confident when i know what im talking about, but i wouldnt say im v foceful or assertive either, quite a girly girl really and too sure if id be the right material for dealing with offenders if they were v intimidating?
I have a degree in psychology, and know you take a diploma and nvq at level 4 as part of the training, but also how hard is it to get accepted? And do you have a job at the end of the training or do you then have to look for advertised vacancies for qualified probation officers and apply for them?
Sorry know thats alot of qus.....

Why did cops in NYC search my bag on the subway for NO reason?

I'm just a young girl minding my own business. Its a new rule/law/whatever of random stop and search in subways and buses.

Subway has thousands of entrances that terrorists can get thru with no detection. Does Bush think manning only a handful of entrances is going to stop a terrorist?

Soon the govt will have the right to stop me anytime anywhere to seach my bag for NO APPARENT REASON. I was just WALKING for godsake! What is this..Communist China?
