If Fred Thompson runs, he would be the most true-blue conservative. The problem is getting him to run. There is an online petition requesting that he run, see below.

Out of all of the major candidates, Senator Brownback is the most conservative. He has links to Opus Dei and holds ultraconservative positions on abortion and gay marriage. However, Brownback is a dark horse. In terms of the main frontrunners (Guliani, McCain, and Romney), Romney is certainly the most conservative. However, some in the Religious Right question him because of his Mormonism and his previous position on abortion, gay marriage, and stem cell research. Type in "Mitt Romney" on YouTube and you can see a previous pro-choice statement he made in 2002. If Tom Tancredo runs, he will be the most far-right, though. He has made extremely xenophobic comments about Muslims, Hispanics, and immigrants.

None of the current candidates are conservative. Newt Gingrich and Fred Thompson aren't officially in the race, but they would be the most conservative. Newt is a slimeball, so the only hope is the DA on law and order.

Mike Huckabee, former governor of Arkansas recently announced, and is extremely conservative, even for a Republican. Beats the pants off even Romney.

None, but the Rudy/Romney ticket is going to clean up. And then Romney is going to take the reigns after Rudy is done.
