The democratic base follows what is popular in the polls that day so I dont think it will effect any thing. The fact that they wnat the war to end in Iraq but have no concrete ideas on how to end it seems to have no effect on thier base.

The Democrat BASE is so far left they are UN-American Socialists. If the LEFT BASE gets what THEY want we won't exist as a nation any more.
Thank God the majority of the left don't agree with the BASE.

Indeed there will be repercussions. If you base your candidacy upon something, you had better show something for your time in office. Even if you're blocked by other congressionals. You can at least say you tried to reperesent your platform. Otherwise, you risk being seen as a two-faced liar.
