that's funny batty and Thor, No where in the question did i ask "Hey ladies would you trust me if i told you that i take the pill?" my question was IF YOU WERE A GUY WOULD YOU TAKE IT? although i don't mind the positive respones from the female gender they are much appreciated =)

haha nice input rm, you shouldn't be so critical. or maybe i should have been more specific. Either way from the responses you should get the idea of what i meant. Unless you are catagorized as "typical" and don't want to accept responsiblity for your actions. I see no harm in a guy taking a pill for prevention as long as it isn't harmful. I feel the same way about ladies as well. Just as long as it is not harmful

Actually, many many women take birth control, so many it has affected the population growth and the length between generations, but I operate on facts and not hysteria. As far as birth control for men, in Sweden they did a study where men took baths (like a hot tub) at 100 degrees for 20 minutes a day, everyday, for a week. Their sperm count lowered to zero, it required one bath a week for 20 minutes to maintain, and when stopped, took one week to return to full fertility. i thought it wouold be a great idea to make a kind of sports bar atmosphere with scantily clad women serving the drinks, and men could get together and use it for a bonding time while simultaneously strengthening the effectiveness of birth control women use, as well as their primary relationships (for taking some responsibility). but that's just me...how about that idea? Sould better than a pill?

I heard about this on MSN.com and I thought it was wonderful! Men are legally responsible for any children they produce and you would think that they would love something more effective than condoms and something that feels better. I brought this up in my Psy class and everyone thought that men wouldn't do it and that it's a 'woman thing'. This is why pharmaceutical companies haven't put much funding towards it. There is one method that is going through clinical trials in India where they inject medicine into the vas deferins (sp)and it closes up the pathway sperm travels down (result-dry orgasm). It acts as birth control and there is no fluid to spread STD's. If the clinicals go well all they need is FDA approval.

I think it would be a great idea. I think women get saddled with so much sexual responsibility, before and after BC mishaps, that this would be just one more safeguard. A man who would have his womans back like that is totally awesome anyways, and a guy who gets around keeping girls out of trouble is better than the other option.

OMG!! Do they make it??? Man, how I would love to not have to be the one responsible for that (not that I have a problem with it, but it would be one less thing to think about)!! Time for the guys to get an understanding of what us women have to deal with. I wonder what the side effects would be though?
My bf would have to take it!! I've been doing the birth control thing for the last 10yrs - it's his turn!

I think if that were possible then more power to men. Women do enough taking pills and having kids...guys with a little more responsibility would be great.

And how many men have said, "Honest, I have had a vasectomy Sweetie.", and then disappears while the gal gets to spend 20 years as a parent? Nice idea, and I know most men are good and honest. But just one bad one will ruin the ability of a woman to trust again when it involves her entire future.
So, for guys who are responsible and don't want 20 years of child support payments, take it! But don't expect absolute trust and approval from women about your use of it.

woe, this is quite a confusing question because how can men take birth control when it is usually women who try not to get pregnant and they're the ones who take birth control laxatives and pills. Duh, unless you're the only guy (if you are an officially documented guy) who gets pregnant and if you do, tell me and share with all of us how you can perform such a stupendous feat. My answer, specifically is no, no, no no no, no birth control for men because all a guy has to do is use necessary precautionary measures. Thank you and please, when your baby is born (if the shoe fits) if its a girl name it Wanda, and if it is a baby boy, name it Huey. By by, and take care and thank you for your tip toeing time.

They do have a new birth control for men, it just came out. I think the FDA just approved it for use in the U.S. Its pill form. We were talking about it in my women's studies class and I think its a great idea.

Dog Love- Actually thats exactly what the male birth control does. It stops the production of sperm so that men shoot blanks.

it does come in a pill form.
I don't know how much i trust it and it seems weird.
it stops man's muscles so he still orgasms but with no semen emission

I also dislike it because you have to take it before sex (I think up to 4 hours before). so it has to be planned Vs heat of the moment sex

It's actually in the works. I think with that and the woman on BC it would prevent any unwanted pregnancies and lower abortion and run away daddies who don't want to take on their responsibilities.

Prevention is the best cure.
