Do you care?
What can be done to stop the FBI abusing power?
What WILL be done?
If someone tries to do something, will the Republicans spear-head them as being anti-American and in favor of the terrorists, as crippling the FBI's ability to investigate?

My kids' father is an abuser, a serial abuser who keeps finding ways to escape the consequences. I want Oprah's help! National attention, money, some powerful checks and balances... anything...I emailed her, what else can I do?

This particular example happens to be stated by a Liberal although I am asking this is a bi-partisan question as both sides are guilty of stating mistruths as facts while refusing to provide backup and/or sources.

This particular person states that it is the Dems and Libs that are the majority signing up to fight in Iraq. I think it's pretty much a general consensus on Y!A that the Liberals are anti-war and the Conservatives are the "war-mongers". Here is the further statistical evidence that 57% of service members identify themselves as Rep as compared to 13% Dem (not from Fox News)...

My question is whether or not you believe that people who make blantantly false statements ACTUALLY believe what they are saying or whether they are intentionally lying.

All opinions welcome, thanks!

According to an NPR article, 1.3 million (approximate figure) fetuses are aborted every year in the united states.

According to the US coalition for Child Survival, TEN million children die every year due to easily preventable diseases such as diarrhea.

So which problem seems like the most pressing to deal with?

The phone company charges $2.50 per month to NOT list my number in the phone book. That's $30 a year to maintain my privacy! This should be illegal! Other companies have an obligation to protect my private information without charging for it. They might be civilly liable for being careless with private information. So why are phone companies permitted this form of extortion? A phone is a necessary utility. Does the electric company or water service blackmail us this way? The phone company says, "Pay this fee, or we'll publish your private information for everyone to see -- salesman, telemarketers, criminals and everyone else we GIVE it to (and we give our phone book to everyone)". So what gives them the right? Shouldn't this practice be illegal?

I can do whatever I want with my army, invade any land I see fit, confiscate other sovereign nations wealth and resources and keep my Queen and Princesses safe from harms way whilst I insist my subjects just shut the h*ell up or I will enact new laws that will make them all terrorist sympathizers.

OK?

Are there any other good lies you can tell by combining two factual statements to imply cause and effect?

Example: Hillary socialized, 9/11 terrorized

See? I just connected Hillary's attempt to socialize medicine with the 9/11 attacks! Question for the libs: does that make it true?

Two questions. Did you know that if Barack Obama was two years older he could not be president. He was born in Hawaii two years after Hawaii became a state. How does that make you feel? And what Republican is running for president, I have only heard about Democrats.

This should be an interesting debate!
Everyone is debating women's reproduction rights.
Perhaps we should switch this arguement to male's reproduction rights?

Vasectomy is easily reversible when the man decides to have children.
Can men now see that it is a personal decision and women don't want the government telling them what to do with their bodies?

I've heard many times people bashing illegal workers from Central or South America, especially Mexico, the USA is even going so far as to build a fence between the countries. Is this a racist issue? Are the people of Central and South America seen as lesser than those of the USA and thus not worthy of working there?

This is open to everyone: conservative, liberal, Christian, Muslim, etc. I just want to start a talk. This war is a big issue today, but we cannot let the media do all of the talking. Let's just give our opinions.

Please do not insult anyone for his or her opinion. The purpose of this question is to get people to share their views. Hopefully, we can get a better idea of what the world really wants.

The "best answer" will go to whomever can support their opinions with the most facts. It will have nothing to do with my own views, which are purposefully withheld.

Should the war go on until peace comes? Should the U.S. get out of there before anyone else dies?

You tell me.

The Soviet Union had occupied Afghanistan for several years and, like we are considering, pulled out very quickly because things weren't going well. This left a power vacuum that Al Qeida and the Taliban quickly filled, giving them a safe place to plan and train for 9-11.
How come we now want to make this same mistake in Iraq?
