Politics & Government - 13 February 2007

The only candidates I hear about on the news anymore are Hilary and Obama. All the networks are favoring the democratic side --more specifically the minority status of it. Just the other day there was a special on Obama and Hilary and their views, while they had a 10 second blurb of a combined republican side and how they're all the same.

I just feel as though the networks are getting around the "equal Time Rule" by fitting their favorites within the allowed exceptions, i.e. interviews, documentaries, "on-the-spot" news event (like they just happened to be in the area), and so forth.

abuse of the rule?

In the recent news article, Al-Qaeda's number two was bad-mouthing President Bush, bringing up his alcoholic past, calling him a liar and a gambler, etc., and saying the Iraq war was a war of lies, etc. How far off is this rhetoric from that used by Democrats in the 2004 and 2006 elections?

Should the promoters and managers of this conglomerate be charged with swindling and receiving money under false pretenses and causing great harm to society . Some people have been killed because of this book and its promoters admit that many in fact have been killed some say millions and this is not an exaggeration . Many nations have been attacked and conquered over this book . If aspirin was doing this much harm we would certainly stop people from selling it or giving it away . We banned heroin and morphine for the ills it caused society . Oh what do you think this book is by the way . The adventure of Tom Sawyer which some people wanted banned from schools or Ann franks diary . You know by reading the question that only one book has caused this kind of death and murder for thousands of years and still does today . Lets fix this problem and ban the Bible for all time .

My theory is........ they are so much out of the "real" world. They get caught up in their fairy tale land of movie-making that they are way out of touch with reality. The worst thing is that they think they have some platform to promote their political stance on thing. I don't give a crap if Matt Damon can't stand conservative republicans. He is an actor, not a political analyst.

Lastly, I love how 99% of actors are against gun rights......although many of their action movies are very violent (ex: Borne Supremacy)

Here is the situation. My brother was released on parole. A year after being released he was arrested again and they put him in jail we paid the bond and then they threw a parole hold on him. He has been in jail now for a year and 4 months, they have not violated his parole or charged him with any new charges. He has not been arraigned on anything. They are just holding him in jail and the only reason they give is a parole hold. So how long are they allowd to hold him and are they violating his rights? He is in prison in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

I'm curious what people out there think of Mitt Romney, former MA governer who is running for president. And people accused Kerry of being a flip flopper? Romney's views simply parrot those of whatever audience he talks to- When he talks to liberals, he professes to be a liberal, and claims to be pro gay. What he's in front of a concervative crowd, he's suddenly a homophobe. As MA governer, he would insult MA when he was visiting more concervative states.....

My friends keep saying that we found WMDs in Iraq. Considering the flak GWB was taking for starting the war, I would think that he would have invited in the media when we found Saddam's stockpile, and made it so visible that not even the most left-leaning paper could have said "still hasn't found anything." So what happened?
