I'm curious what people out there think of Mitt Romney, former MA governer who is running for president. And people accused Kerry of being a flip flopper? Romney's views simply parrot those of whatever audience he talks to- When he talks to liberals, he professes to be a liberal, and claims to be pro gay. What he's in front of a concervative crowd, he's suddenly a homophobe. As MA governer, he would insult MA when he was visiting more concervative states.....
Why would anyone vote for this flip flopping pinhead?

He identifys with the repuglican party that is enough for me, I am not the least bit interested whether he flip, flops or not as he will never get my vote if he was the only one running.

He isn't pro-gay or anti-gay. He is for the traditional view of marriage and family (in otherwords against gay marriage) yet also for equal human rights for everyone (everyone has the right not to be persecuted, the right to vote, the right to work, etc.).

He is pro-life, but allows for certain medical emergencies that necessitate an abortion in order to protect the life of the mother. In these cases where embryos must be aborted for safety's sake, he supports using stem cell research to help cure the very conditions that made the abortions necessary in the first place.

I think that like anyone, he tends to emphasize common ground rather than differences. I am in sales, and when I make presentations to my clients, it is always important to first establish a relationship of friendship and trust, then to discern what the needs of the client are, then to identify which aspects of my product fit the needs of the client. Sometimes it's an excellent match, and sometimes it's not.

If Romney is going to campaign in a conservative state, he will emphasize the views he has that are more conservative. When he is in a liberal state, he will emphasize the views that he shares with them.

True, no politician is perfect and there is a fine line between 'identifying' and 'fudging a little'. Does Romney 'fudge a little'? Well, probably. Does he do it more than any other politician? In my experience, he does it much less.

If he is going to represent the people, he has to be able to adapt to what the people want. In Massachussets, the people wanted liberal government. As a conservative, he made concessions and adapted his leadership to the people he was leading. As chairman of the 2002 Olympic Games, however, he had a more conservative environment and adapted his leadership accordingly.

For me, the most important thing is to look at how successful he has been in accomplishing the objectives and goals of the organizations he has led. If you look at it that way, I think you'll see that he has done a very good job.

Emerson stated that a "stupid consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds"... yet, for this reason, it really is hard to work out any important coverage position that Romney hasn't performed an about face on; so, he wins the grand turn-flopper award and because of this he received't get elected - because even as it comes right down to it the middle/independents are unlikely to believe him, incorrect or top. so some distance as Obama being a turn-flopper...? he's completely performed so on gay marriage and Guantanamo; yet, i do not see it as massive of a situation for him on that because he moved farther left on gay marriage, which extremely joyful his base more desirable and youthful electorate and moderates do not care about the issue that a lot, and moderates want terrorists to stay in the pokey in Cuba.

Because he is a fiscal genius. I'm not really a conservative (especially not with social issues), but his budget work in MA was really good as well as his work with education. But yes, on social issues he is spotty at best. That's why he would be a much better vice president then president.

The areas that people are seeing him "flip flop" tend to be his old ideas. As he has gotten older his ideas have changed. That is normal for a thinking individual.
