The only candidates I hear about on the news anymore are Hilary and Obama. All the networks are favoring the democratic side --more specifically the minority status of it. Just the other day there was a special on Obama and Hilary and their views, while they had a 10 second blurb of a combined republican side and how they're all the same.

I just feel as though the networks are getting around the "equal Time Rule" by fitting their favorites within the allowed exceptions, i.e. interviews, documentaries, "on-the-spot" news event (like they just happened to be in the area), and so forth.

abuse of the rule?

your thoughts.

and no, I'm not confusing with live broadcasts either. I'm talking about promoting a particular side or candidate by using the exceptions of the rule.

the media does not give equal time, ever. During the last election, some candidates were not even allowed to debate! Politics in America is rigged. Once we do away with Electoral Votes and let every politician campaign equally, we may see some real candidates.

i don't think of it truly is ever occurred previously. because the Vice Presidential Debate is arising quickly, i'm extremely curious to well known the way Sarah Palin will fare hostile to someone like Joe Biden. Biden would not seem a passive speaker. i wish that discuss gained't grow to be one-sided. i wish to work out more beneficial of what I watched tonight between the Presidential applicants.

The media is definately pro democrat, also this is the first time a woman or black candidate has ran with a chance to win (even though it is likely that John Edwards is the best chance the democrats have to get to the white house).

Legimate news outlets have no restrictions on them for the equal time rule. However, a talk show, or something does have to offer the other canidate equal time, they though, do not have to take it.

The media is getting us ready to accept more corruption and failure. American's should look at all the candidates in this race. The people who own our media don't want us to know about people like Ron Paul or Tom Tancredo. Americans fighting to protect it from the globalists agenda.

You are confusing news broadcast with actually giving candidates live air time to pitch their case.

There is no such rule. The "Fairness Doctrine" was repealed long ago.

And it should stay so.

Thanks.
