Republicans - no. I know several republicans and they are good people. *Neo-conservatives* - I think they are unpatriotic since they choose to follow their agenda of power without any concern for America and American values and morals. They have brought the nation to the level of terrorists and third world countries where bribes determine legislation and blind religion rules the education and laws. Where torture is not only ignores, but actively condoned.

The Republican Party is very organized and efficient in whipping up hatred among their membership against their perceived political enemies. The Democratic Party, on the other hand, has too many factions with different goals. If you've been listening to Republican sound bites or reading vitriolic conservative letters to the editor for the last 12 years, it's a little more than coincidence that they always 'stay on message.' There is a group of conservatives that actually comes up with these messages and
disperses them to the membership. I believe it was Bob Dole that accidentally let it slip out. I don't recall politics being quite so devisive before Newt Gingrich and his ilk. The master of hate politics, though, has got to be Karl Rove. Anyway, if the Republicans currently in power are not 'feeling the love', they have only their arrogant, stubborn, lying and brain damaged leader to blame.

I don't know if this is true or not but I heard that the democratic party hired some people who are very successful in the advertising business when Al Gore Was running for president. And their advice was if you can't beat your opponent in the arena of ideas, then you have to go after their charterer. Which they have done relentlessly and counting on human nature to help have been very succesful but it has taken awhile to get to where it is today. They know that a lot of people won't look up facts for their selves and just jump on the hate Bush band wagon because for some reason in their eyes it makes them look important I guess. And besides the very nature of liberals is negative I think they wake up hating. lol They have no plan how to deal with terrorists other than to cut and run they have no plan for stuff here at home other then tax everyone as high as they can get away with and try and spread the money out to be fair. They are dangerous to our country because they don't live in reality. Trying to tax a country into prosperity is like a man standing in a big bucket trying to lift himself up by the handle, it's impossible. socialism has been tried before and has failed and making this country into a 3rd world country is not the answer either. but the republicans seem to have no back bone and have caved in to a lot of liberal ideas and conservatism has been lost in the shuffle. It's sad. ok enough of my ranting

Yes I'm sure they do.It would be nice to discus the issues that matter. The problem is if it is a republican idea it is automatically wrong.Well I thing if most people took the time to actually look at the core republican issues ,they would be amazed at how compassionate and beneficial they are.I don't mind discussing the Democrat issues , but most are very harmful to the average American.
By the way developin minds what power hungry neo-Conservative issues are you talking about.Lower taxes and less government. How will that give them power. On the other hand liberals want continued social dependency ,social security, universal health care, national school system. That seems to give a lot more power to the government mostly liberals since it their ideas.these are dangerous programs. The one we have social security should be put back in the hands of the people.

Things you have to believe to be a Republican today:
* Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton.* Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is Communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony.* The United States should get out of the United Nations, but our highest national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions against Iraq.* A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multinational corporations can make decisions affecting all humankind without regulation.* The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches, while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay.* If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex.* A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our longtime allies, then demand their cooperation and money.* Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy, but providing health care to all Americans is socialism.* HMOs and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at heart, as do oil companies.* Global warming is junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools.* A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense, but a president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy.* Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet.* The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but George Bush's driving record is none of our business.* Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. Then it's an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery.* What Bill Clinton did in the 1960s is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the '80s is irrelevant.

I am a liberal, and I think 'hate' is too strong a word.
Pity is more like it.
I look at people like Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity and even Larry Kudlow, and I marvel at their 'narrowmindedness'.
Oh, I forgot to mention GWB.
I just cannot figure out how their brains work.
Black is black, and white is white, and other colours don't exist!
Nice answer, Art (above)

Hate is a strong word. But I really really really don't like the people *among* the Republicans who are attacking our American freedom or acting as if any dissent is a form of treason. Dissent is the highest form of patriotism.

I have quite a few Republican friends, and relatives. I do not hate them, we can even agree on some issues. I hate the current Administration and their attack on Americans.
