I live in california and attend a public school. There are security cameras on campus that are very visable. Lately there has been a rash of thieving. I know the person that stole, and i dont want them to get caught; however i heared that there was a "hidden camera" the room, where property was taken. Is it illegal to have a hidden camera in a public school, and if so what if its called "evidence"? can it be dissmissed, or will it uphold in court?

Should police be used to gather intelligence? If required to work more closely, do you think state and local law enforcement agencies would cooperate effectively?

People, I require your assistance because I feel uneasy with the conclusion to a deliberation.
I was watching recently that fabulous documentary “The World at War”, discussing the two atomic bombs dropped by that fearless country, the mighty USA.
According to the US thinking behind these courageous acts, the ‘high collateral damage’ (number of civilian deaths to you and me), was acceptable because it would quickly end the war, thus in the long term, saving more lives than would otherwise be lost in the atomic bombing.

There was a cop on his horse waiting to cross the road when a little boy on his new shiny bike stopped beside him.

''Nice bike,'' the cop said, ''did Santa bring it to you?''

''Yep,'' the little boy said, ''he sure did!''

The cop looked at the bike and while handing the boy a $20 ticket he said, ''Next year, tell Santa to put a license plate on the back of it.''

To go along with the cop, the little boy said, ''Nice horse you got there sir, did Santa bring it to you?'' ''Yes, He sure did,'' said the cop.

The little boy looked up at the cop and said, ''Next year tell Santa to put the dick underneath the horse instead of on top.''

How come is seems like each time something happens in the Middle East, the country Isreal is always the good in the reports and news. Do they secretly support their own terrorists and groups, where do they train and it seems like you never hear that Israel does no wrong whatsoever. Well this is a lie and they are not the chosen ones in my book.

So sad is the state of the GOP. They have no viable candidate for 08, the war in IRAQ is a shambles, the White House is sending more troops into the mess, high profile Republicans are being charged and investigated all the time, it really goes on and on. Why do Conservatives "swallow" all this garbage?

On any war issue, all the dems always seem to shift their positions with every new popularity poll. While repubs tend to tough it out more and stick to the position they started with.
Ever notice that?

That's good, that we can assist poor countries when natural disasters do arise. What about the homeless people in our own backyard? I got to witness hunger among people who served their country and are left out in the streets. There are others who lost their jobs. There is alot of need in the US. Let's concentrate on our people first, and then we can help other countries. God Bless!

According to figures released by the Ohio Dept. of Jobs and Family Services, the number of people receiving welfare in the state has doubled since Oct. 2006.
It is comforting, however, that there are people in Mexico and China who are not having any troubles paying their bills and are enjoying the jobs that once were in Ohio.
This is the cost of an economy that is geared to helping the upper end of the income level. Don't be surprised when all that corporate profit gets lost to increased taxes to pay for food stamps for the idle working class.
FYI. I am neither a liberal nor a conservative. I am a lion, in case you haven't noticed.

When I discovered YA, I thought I'd found a place where logical and intelligent debate could take place. But nope...wrong.

Is anyone else (either Rep or Dem) tired of reading the questions that are designed to malign the other party? "Why do Democrats hate America?" "Why are all Republicans so stupid?"

Its all just so much like a childish school yard squabble.

Is there anyone else out there who is tired of it all?

And yes, I'm fully prepared for all those children to mock me, and tell me to leave if I don't like it...that would be fitting....

I had a New Jersey driver’s license with 7 points on my driving record for 2 speeding tickets. I changed my driver’s license to Connecticut driver’s license about a month and half ago. As I understand, due to interstate compact states exchange information about violations. Today (after 1.5 months since I received my CT driver’s license) I went to Connecticut DMV and got my driving history and to my surprise it says “No violation on record” with 0 points. Can anyone please explain how this could be possible since NJ and CT are compact members and share violations / points with each others? Does this mean that I have a clean slate now? Thanks a lot.

a 17 year old was living with one of her moms friend for a month and hadnt gone to school in 2 months.. can the moms friend be charged with a harboring a runaway if the cops go to the mother and ask her why she isnt taking care of her own child??

the mother explains to the cops that the 17yr old had "runaway" to california from nevada but knew where she was and knew she wasnt attending school.

what can happen to the mothers friend if she was only helping because the mother would not do anything to take care of her own 17yr old?....the mother knew about it what her friend was doing and was ok with it and had 0% of a problem with it....the mothers friend though....wanted the teen to go back with her mother the whole time

Well everyone is making a big fuss out of a Sen. Hillary Clinton being a woman but most importantly making a big fuss out of Sen. Barack Obama being black, questioning his christain religion, and calling 10 years as a senators ( State/US) inexperienced. What do Republicans have to offer?

Rudy Guliani- He lacks of experience, has only been a City Mayor nobody's asking him to be a US Senator ot Governor first. He is also Pro-Choice, meaning he supports abortions. So do you Republicans really agree with that?

Romney is a mormon. So guys are usually pretty serious about Christianity, why dont you fuss about that. Atleast we know that Obama and Hillary are really Christians!

McCain is your last hope but I don't know how well he'd be able to run against the progressive Democrats when half of America wants a change. At 70 years of age, McCain represents an older generation of politics.

Please, if you aren't sure that you know the differences, take a few minutes to read this. This is not an attempt to influence anyone's opinion about Iraq. I read it and I'm still opposed.

Even on Yahoo answers there is evidence of a "head stuck in the sand" attitude among a lot of Conservatives. Most of their answers are one liners, usually not answering the question but rather taking a cheap shot at the asker. Facts don't seem to make a difference either, as they just deny any facts or sources presented to them as "liberal bias". Why are they in denial?
