He is worried that INS is going to deport him, because he did not tell them he was here illegally in the first place, is there any reason for him to be worried about this situation he thinks his is in. There are some people at his work place that he thinks are going to call immigration and tell on him.

It depends on how he applied, when he came in, etc. For example if he had a passport from his native country, immigration would have noticed if, for example, there was an expired student or tourist visa. If he entered the country illegally, without a passport, then immigration would have asked him about that.
The story doesn't make much sense.

Is he a resident? well if he resides (lives) here that would make him a resident. That does not make him a LEGAL resident.

He would not have to worry about being deported if he would just leave on his own accord.

Other than that just post his name, address, and place of employment and we will place him on the National Do Not Deport List...only available on Youwho

If your friend is a legal resident, there is nothing anyone can do to him now. Many once illegal aliens now have legal status. I do not agree with illegal immigrants getting legal status, but it happens every day. He can only be deported if he commits a crime.

Post his name, and I'll remove any doubt over his worries with a call to INS.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. If they catch him in a lie they can revoke his resident status. I hope they do. Apply for resident visa and then come that is how it should work.
