1. US casualties, which are at a post-invasion high.

2. Downings of U.S. helicopters, six in less than three weeks.

3. Iraqi and American no-shows. The initial Iraqi brigades are evidently at only 55-65% troop strength. Undoubtedly, these no-shows are Kurds and Shiites who didn't want to leave their home areas to fight in Baghdad. The $15.4 billion the American military has so far poured into "standing them up," they are militia-infiltrated, incompetent, and exceedingly corrupt. Nor have most American troops designated to surge into Baghdad arrived yet. Iraqi and American--about 5,000 troops in all--have even made it to the capital. (The fifth and final American brigade in this plan isn't scheduled to arrive until May!).

4. Iraqi refugees: One out of every seven Iraqis has by now fled his or her home or sought refuge abroad.

5. The devastation of Sunni neighborhoods in Baghdad.

6. Massive publicity about the details of the slow-to-happen surge operation.

Do you think if Bush had used this strategy with Iraq (& hopefully with Iran) there may have been no need for an invasion or better yet the US would have found out that Saddam didn't have any WMDs?

I noticed many exchanges today are exaggerated by emotions over the GWB regime.

After 08, new team move in the White House, the country may begin to re-unite and love one another again.

At least, I will.

Alright everyone I am trying to move out of the US in a year or 2, I will leave with around 35k and no car and will be around 21-22 yrs old.

Like the topic says I am trying to get an opinion for a place to move, I want to move somewhere warm (currently in chicago), I was thinking....Hawaii, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Italy, Ireland, Peru, Jamaica, Virgin Islands, UK, Tokyo, Austria, Australia, Canada....

As you can see I am open to anything, and I just want to live a calmer life without the hassle of the things in the US. I would probably move back after a couple years just because the US is the best at everything.

So any suggestions on a place would be awsome, also if anyone can tell me the steps to moving. What I am required to do, etc. I am also favoring a place that speaks english since that is all I know. Or at least spoken in the country.

If anyone can share their experience with me, or any helpful info that would be great!!!! Thanks!!!

When I was a little girl, my Uncle left his gun on his bed. We were visiting. I found it and thought it was a toy pistol. I took it with me to the kitchen and held it to my sister's head and said, "bang." I did not pull the trigger, but the gun was loaded.

Seriously.
I sure hope it doesn't happen.
But I would probably hope to have a big savings account and live unemployed for a long period of time so I don't pay income tax. Maybe hide in a cave in Southern New Mexico.

Right wing Republicans are open in their scorn for women- They detest feminism- Right wing mouth piece Rush Limbagh often throws around the term 'feminazi' as an insult towards women. Right wing concervatives feel a woman should not have control over her own body, by opposing the right to choose, and opposing different forms of birth control. and much of their hatred of Hillary Clinton is becuse she is a strong woman who is not afraid to speak her mind. And the venemous comments Republicans make about the current Speaker of the House- due to her gender- reveals the anti-women bias of the radical right. Why are these right wingers have such distain for women?

OR IS MR. BUSH A DOUBTER, TO SIMPLE TO UNDERSTAND COMPLEX CONCEPTS, AND HAS TO SEE FOR HIMSELF?

"...I think Saddam and the United States very often have a commonality which bonds them together and that is simply this: That without Saddam Hussein, Iraq would disintegrate into several countries and make more trouble for the rest of the Middle East....When the rebellion started against Saddam in 1991, that danger loomed. The United States helped Saddam crush that rebellion...The American administration was afraid that Iraq will disintegrate. They had no plan for what might follow Saddam Hussein. And certainly President Bush was explicit on that subject, saying he did not want to be mired in Iraqi internal affairs--until he was forced into getting into Iraq by television and the pictures of the poor Kurds. And so that rebellion failed...In the case of the United States, there are huge problems that we want to solve before we think seriously of moving him..."
