Never. Your Uncle was at best negligent, and at worst a plain idiot.

Well I don't think that there was anything wrong with leaving loaded guns around as long as the people that attend the house know about the guns. I feel that guns are able to be left out as long people in the house know how to play with a gun. Guns are not dangerous as long as the person knows how to handle them.

So what you are saying is your uncle had a gun in his bedroom and your parents didn't supervise you.
1)He should of had his door locked while there where small children in the house or his gun locked away in a gun cabinet or safe.
2)Your parents should not of let you just wonder freely through a house that wasn't yours. One of them had to know or suspect he was a gun owner.
All the adults in this situation were wrong. Hopefully you learned some places are off limits and your uncle learn to have your parents call before visiting so he could child proof his house.
No we have never left guns in the reach of children and our children learned early about gun safety and responsibility.

Thank God you didn't pull the trigger. We may all have a right to possess arms, but I think everyone should complete a safety course first. It could even be a manditory class in high school. I have had extensive weapons training and I can tell you that most gun owners don't know how to properly handle and care for firearms.

No, but when I was the manager of an apartment building a police officer moved out and I found that he had left a gun up on top of a shelf in his bedroom closet.
I took a picture of it but never touched it, and then I called the police dept. to come get it.

I am a police officer who only lives with my wife. I keep my duty weapon in its holster on my belt. I also have a handgun in my bedroom near my night stand. They are not locked up normally, but if I have someone visiting, even for a couple of minutes, the guns get locked in the gun safe.

Shows you the importance of teaching a child the proper way to handle a gun and the rules associated with them. This is exactly what happens without proper education

All my guns are unloaded and locked in a safe. It would be very irresponsible to leave guns "lying around" even if you live alone. If your house gets burglarized, you would have armed more criminals.

Your folks didn't spank you...IF your parents went there unannounced it wasn't your uncles fault. You should have had better mannors than go into your uncle's bedroom.
