No. State I.D.s are just that, through the state. Why don't you just go and take care of the warrants and then you will not have to look over your shoulder. They will catch up with you sooner or later.

True story. Lost my DL, went to get a new one, and got arrested for nonpayment of a speeding ticket (43 in a 30 - only one I've ever had IN MY LIFE) that I had gotten 4 3/4 years earlier. I had PAID the ticket within 30 days of receiving it, but something was missed in the city computers. 2 weeks after paying my fine, I had made a military move to California, lived there for 2 yrs before returning to Texas. I had NO IDEA that I had a warrant out for my arrest. After being taken out of DPS in handcuffs, & going through the whole ordeal of fingerprints and all, I was released on a $700 bond (somehow the ticket was now marked with an "x" for no license and no insurance). Fortunately, I was able to pull the receipt and original ticket from my files to show it had been paid and that it had been for speeding only.

The point of that is that if I got arrested getting a driver's license from DPS for a ticket that had me going 43 mph, and that was the only spot on my record, more than likely when you go to get your ID, which is also with DPS, you will get arrested for your 2 warrants.

I suggest you contact an attorney, and then contact Dallas County and the city of Dallas to make arrangements to turn yourself in, and begin either taking responsibility for your charges, or getting them cleared.

Good luck
