This is a follow up - I recently asked a question about life being fair, and had some pretty decent responses. The most prevalent of which was to the extent that: Life is not fair, but everyone should have the same opportunity. Given this day and age, I am looking for reasons that everyone does not have an equal playing field regarding opportunity to be successful. What does personal responsibility and being responsible for the consequences of one's decisions have to do with this subject?

Many parents have children who are being sent to Iraq to fight his war. Bush is planning to enlist thousands of young americans to fight in his war. Why not send his own children. If he supporting this war then he should have his children fight too. Maybe he should feel what it is like to have your child sent off to war. This will never happen, but this would be a Great question to ask bush. Bush would rather sacrifiice someone elses son or dauther then his own. Im just glad his term in office is coming to an end!! Who Agrees with me? And please, dont give me dumba$$ answers!!

Also how do we dismantle the military-industrial complex that sees our country wasting billions of dollars on ludicrously vast arsenals of WMDs and has us sending our poor troops to the middle east to die while they work to ensure that we have the means to quench our oil addiction?

The GOP keeps lying and saying Pelosi asked for a plane. In fact, she offered to fly commercial, and it was the House sergeant-at-arms who made the request for a larger plane for security purposes.

Amid the hubbub, House Sergeant-at-Arms Bill Livingood, who is charged with the speaker's security, issued a statement saying it actually was he, not Pelosi, who had requested that the military provide the larger plane so Pelosi could fly nonstop to San Francisco.

"The fact that Speaker Pelosi lives in California compelled me to request an aircraft that is capable of making nonstop flights for security purposes, unless such an aircraft is unavailable," Livingood said in a statement. "I regret that an issue that is exclusively considered and decided in a security context has evolved into a political issue."
Pelosi said Thursday that she'd be happy to fly commercial.

"We never asked for a larger plane. This is a myth that (the Republicans) are talking about on the floor," she said.

First article title:
"Pentagon criticizes key pre-Iraq war findings of top Rumsfeld aide"
http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070209/pl_...

Second article posted 22 minutes later entitled:
"Report says Pentagon manipulated intel"
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070209/ap_o...

If you read the articles, you see both are basically about a pentagon inspector general who found suspect the activities of a so-called "top policy aid" to Donald Rumsfeld who contributed to intellegence of "dubious quality or reliability" which misled people about the alledged tie between AlQaeda and Iraq (found to be nonexistenant according to the 9/11 commission). However, one article is written in favor of the former policy aid's actions and the other much less favorable. (See details below.)
