Peace is overrated. It's probably just the flavor-of-the-month with the mindless "American Idol" crowd.

My ex-boyfriend was recently put on probation in San Bernardino county, California. He has harassed me in the past and I have heard from friends that he has been talking about vandalizing my cars.
Should I contact his probation officer and make him aware of the situation? And if so, how can I find out who his probation officer is?

Thanks!

Save on gas. Decrease polution. Roads safer. Teens would have to take a bus or adults drive them places, so more supervision.

Can anyone help me find a legal aid lawyer in london
SE1. I am being threatened with eviction from council. I have had the tenancy since Aug 2005, and i have spent a fortune on decorating it. I get full hb & rates allowance. The flat is not furnished as i haven't had the money to do it. But i spent £1000 on a professional decorator to do it up for me. The reason i haven't physically moved in is because my mum suffers from acute emphysema and i am supporting her. She stays in Edinburgh and i can get doctors letter confirming this. However, the council have said they are going to evict me as i am not staying in the property
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do. The council are not listening to me and i am very worried at the prospect of losing my flat.

So do you think we should stop giving out foreign aid, and start demanding our debtors (20 years ago we were the world lender, then they started spending too freely to buy the love of other nations, and to buy votes of our own electorate) pay up or assign their debt to our creditors? that includes the UN, pay up what they owe US, or seize their assets in NYC and turn it into something more useful like a gambling casino/strip joint? Like strip the former politicians of their pensions and perks to help recover the losses to the American "shareholders" of their mismanagement? And without question terminate all foreign aid, all foreign scholarships. Seize assets in this country of those who owe us money until they pay. Stop imports from countries that steal intellectual property and sell counterfeit brand names and practice unfair trading that cause lopsided defecits. Confiscate property of felons using said property to commit felonies, this includes those in/formerly holding office?

To me, saying, "You're Black and you're coaching in the Super Bowl," is like saying, "You're short, and you're teaching an AP class." Isn't that insulting?

Something a little odd happened a few days ago. It happened here in the "Politics" category. I posted a question. I referred back to it a few minutes later. There were only two answers. Yet there were 4 (four!) "Thumbs Up" referring to one answerer. Can someone rate an answer without offering an answer? This is the second time this has happened.

Taiwanese people say that it isn't, but I know of some Chinese people who would rather kill you than say that it's not part of China.
Taiwan has it's own government, it's own president, and is definately not like China's Communist government.
I'm biased (well, i am Taiwanese), but I think that Taiwan isn't part of China.
What do you think?

""According to the inspector general, they had evidence that the agents said they were out to shoot Mexicans," Poe said. "I found that hard to believe and asked if I could see that evidence. They never gave us what was promised."

"I want to weigh the facts and the evidence in this case," McCaul said. "Either it is total arrogance or gross incompetence on the part of the Inspector General's office. If what (the DHS) told us was a lie, or if they misrepresented the facts on this case to members of Congress, we are going to hold them accountable."

The whole thing don't sound very good to me.

Thoughts?

And we can fire him too. No wander they got rid of Harriet Miers.
With accountability and oversight back, Bush is headed for some majors storms on the horizon and will need all the legal protection he can get. I don't wonder that many in the GOP regret ever " electing " him that first time, much less the second term.
