do you have any specific english terms for an individulal or group of people or the authority that posses the power to use the religion/verses and interprete it to suit their own (evil) objectives?

Living in a country,e.g a Muslim country, we are restricted by so much regulations and norms that has been thought by these people. I observe that the top authority, being an individual or group has exploit the words/verses of AlQuran and Prophets to implement 'laws' irrationally, as if they are the representatives of GOD!

A person with different opinions, are perceived to have objected the words of GOD, and be labelled as infidels. It is truly depressing.

As a rational Muslim, we believe that the Alquran verses has wider and different meanings which against to the many direct translations as claimed by most of Ulama/ruling authority.

These individuals, Ruling authority, Imam or Ulama (top Muslim scolars) has been exploiting the Muslim nations for centuries.

I just heard of a story recently that some protesters of the war were spitting on a Vietnam vetern. Why?? I can understand people being against the war and the politicians but these are some of the most brave, intelligent and proud people that you will ever meet.

Why do people pull the trigger of a handgun while squeezing a rifle's. I somewhat understand the squeeze of a rifle, but why can't they squeeze a handgun's trigger?
