Yes, God Bless every one of our soldiers who lay their life on the line to protect ours. And yes the libertards are completely invested in the loss of the war in Iraq. That why they NEVER point out how many militants we kill or the good things that are happening, and they are freaking everywhere. It really kills me to think they call themselves patriots and that they are "protecting" our troops when they are giving the terrorists what they want!.

God Bless America and the Individual freedoms that persons such as myself have fought to preserve in this country. Liberal or conservative has nothing to do with being patriotic. I have gotten a lump in my throat every time I hear "Taps" and "America the Beautiful". I hope that we never lose the ability to be able to express ourselves in the way that we are today.

To clarify, let me first define patriot:
1. a person who loves, supports, and defends his or her country and its interests with devotion.
2. a person who regards himself or herself as a defender, esp. of individual rights, against presumed interference by the federal government.
3. (initial capital letter) Military. a U.S. Army antiaircraft missile with a range of 37 mi. (60 km) and a 200-lb. (90 kg) warhead, launched from a tracked vehicle with radar and computer guidance and fire control.
Interestingly enough, according to dictionary.com, pretty much everyone who posted here was technically right in his her or own mind, depending on which definition of patriot one prefers. I personally will stick with the first and more traditional interpretation (rather than the second which exists on the hippie notion of "the man's" attempt to take our individual rights). The third obviously exists and they keep company with the first.
Interestingly enough, the first and second can and should coexist, but some people seem to have taken the second and run with it, lumping the military and anyone who supports it into the same category as the governmental enemy--"the man." What I don't understand is why it isn't abundantly clear to all that in this instance, that there is a war on all of us whether we want to acknowledge it or not. If you truly want to be a patriot of either the first or second definition, you should be interested at this time in preserving our way of life from those who would like to see the world living under strict Islamic law. Then you truly will see a world in which you won't be able to defend yourself against "the man," because you'll either have your head slowly separated from your body, or you'll be bowing to Mecca five times a day or so. For the female among us, take heart at least in that if you're allowed to live, the burka at least makes everyone else look fat too. Watch Iran. And don't say I didn't warn you. They've already waged war on our armed forces overseas in their brazen involvement in Iraq. When the times come you'll be thanking your lucky stars for the type of patriot to which this poster was referring.

Two here, one in training!
2n2222, most of the Marines I know are conservative republicans, with a few who really just don't care at all about politics. And seeing as how my husband is a Marine and we live 5 minutes from base, I'm guessing that I know a lot more than you do.

I'm a patriot.
Was it not Thomas Jefferson that said "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism"?
When you decide to wake up, and realize that Faux News isn't right, Ann Coulter is actually wrong, and that Bush is not God, then maybe you'll realize what us "cowards" are trying to say.
I'm as patriotic as can be, but I'm not proud of our nation's accomplishments in the last 6 years.
I support everyone one of our troops, and I will be damned if you can prove otherwise.

Haha, you're loopy. the two a troll or a lunatic. i'm not even particular in case you are able to recite the invoice of Rights from reminiscence. Who have been the founding fathers? while did the U. S. finally evaluate itself a separate state from super Britain? And one extra element... How often do you watch FOX information? ;)

Patriot right here, I dont know why they want to pull out, all those soldiers deaths for nothing. And they need to stop saying we like war. We dont like it, its terrible, but necessary, because there are just people out there who think killing more people is fun. So some one has to step in. And we did, we are there now, we arnt pulling out. But you must understand, if they dont want the country to be a democracy and they want to shoot the hell out of each other fine. But there are still people there who dont like that and we fight for them as well. So democrats, stop complaining, and let soldiers do what they signed up for, thats their job, as long as the fights over there and not on our soil. And as long as their are men, there will never be peace, thats a fact, just live with it.

Get off your soap box!!! Why are you trying to
cause division in America? Who do you think you
are to surmise what's in anyone's heart. I'm glad
you have everyone so pegged . You have accused/ judged and condemned. Our court system doesn't even do that. Where did you get all this dung from anyhow. You don't even know what a Patriot is. Give us your interpretation of a true Patriot. Call Rush Limbaugh, he may know the answer.
Your Rhetoric sounds a lot like the Ku Klux Klan
and the skin-heads. Always trying to cause division.
