You should be skeptical of all sources. Don't believe everything anyone says. Look for references and check as many as possible. After a while you get familiar with who's telling the truth and who's lying.

We already caught CBS news with Dan Rather using forged papers, so we know they're dishonest. Newsweek was caught lying and so was Time and CNN. NBC has some problems too. The NY Times is constantly lying, so no one believes them at all anymore. In fact, most of the world is catching on to their deceit. That's why all those I mentioned are failing in the ratings and subscriptions are way down.

It takes a while, but we catch liars and we no longer believe them or listen to anything they say.

No I don't believe very much this awful Labour Government tells us - and the Labour leaning media in Scotland aren't much different.

The Herald newspaper is a disgrace compared to the paper it used to be. I just stopped reading it - it wasn't worth the money - the Sun has more impartial journalism!

As with, for example, the Nazis - the majority of the population did not recognise that the information they were receiving was propaganda. Until after the event had passed.

Though we all, thesedays, like to think of ourselves as far more 'worldly' and better equipped to recognise propaganda when we see it - what we all seem to forget is that the 'art' of propaganda itself has evolved - and is as equally intelligent - if not more so - than we are at recognising it!

So, in my view, the one secret weapon that we all have is not something that allows us to realise whether it is true or not - but instead is SALT.

Take a pinch of it everytime you watch or read or listen to your governments - be it TV, the written word or radio!

Well the media likes to spot the shortcomings of the government, so I doubt they are lying. And of course the government can't tell everything to citizens, it would compromise our security as a nation and lower our influence in the world.

No I don't believe all the government tells me. America maybe the greatest country on earth, but America's past and present are muddled in deceit and lies. The freedom of our press is one the strong balancing forces that keep the goverment from spreading its proganda as the absolute truth.
