Who has the worst end on the music piracy issue? The recording artist who doesn't get the $15-20 as a result of making a lousy record with only a handful of good songs, or the consumer who gets conned out of his $15-20 for a lousy record with only a handful of good songs?

out with drugs, and forced to live out his entire
sentence that way---PLUS, he had to re-live the
crime in his mind for some 25 years.

Of course, this is fiction. My question is, would
it be legal and ethical to place a dangerous prisoner in a drug-induced coma for an unspecified amount of time, esp. if she or he had
a record of escapes, and assaulted folks every
single time?

I’ve been accused of anti-Semitism because of my disgust with Israel and Zionists. I also just happen to live in Williamsburg Brooklyn right next to the largest Anti-Zionist Anti-Israel Hasidic Jewish neighborhoods in the US if not the world. To hear some of these people talk about Zionists, you would think they were talking about Satin himself. So, are all these Hasidic Orthodox Jews Jew haters too??????

744,000 Are Homeless in U.S.
Quote

(AP) - There were 744,000 homeless people in the United States in 2005, according to the first national estimate in a decade. A little more than half were living in shelters, and nearly a quarter were chronically homeless, according to the report Wednesday by the National Alliance to End Homelessness, an advocacy group.

A majority of the homeless were single adults, but about 41 percent were in families, the report said.

The group compiled data collected by the Department of Housing and Urban Development from service providers throughout the country. It is the first national study on the number of homeless people since 1996. That study came up with a wide range for America's homeless population: between 444,000 and 842,000.

Counting people without permanent addresses, especially those living on the street, is an inexact process. But the new study is expected to provide a baseline to help measure progress on the issue.

"Having this data brings all of us another step closer to understanding the scope and nature of homelessness in America, and establishing this baseline is an extremely challenging task," HUD Secretary Alphonso Jackson said. "Understanding homelessness is a necessary step to addressing it successfully."

HUD is preparing to release its own report on homelessness in the coming weeks, Jackson said. In the future, the department plans to issue annual reports on the number of homeless people in the U.S.

Some cities and states have done their own counts of the homeless, providing a mix of trends, said Nan Roman, president of the National Alliance to End Homelessness. For example, New York City and San Francisco have seen decreases, while the number of homeless in Washington, D.C., has increased, Roman said.

"In the last 12 to 18 months, the homeless population has essentially exploded in Philadelphia," said Marsha Cohen, executive director of the Homeless Advocacy Project, which provides free legal services to the homeless in Philadelphia. "We are seeing big increases in singles and families, both on the street and attempting to enter the homeless system."

"It's a whole influx of new people, and that's the really scary part," Cohen said.

In Columbus, Ohio, workers are scrambling to help an increasing number of people living under bridges and in wooded encampments near rivers and streams, said Barbara Poppe, executive director of the Community Shelter Board.

"We're very concerned about the health and well being of those people being out in the elements," Poppe said. "We had an encampment set on fire, and we had a woman struck by a train."

California was the state with most homeless people in 2005, about 170,000, followed by New York, Florida, Texas and Georgia, according to the report.

Nevada had the highest share of its population homeless, about 0.68 percent. It was followed by Rhode Island, Colorado, California and Hawaii.

"The driver in homelessness is the affordable housing crisis," Roman said. "If we don't do something to address the crisis in affordable housing we are not going to solve homelessness."

She said many of the chronically homeless have mental health and substance abuse problems. Others, she said, simply cannot afford housing.

ok father and I were together when I got preg...he was happy then,. but ended up getting someone else preg and leaving me at 7 months....So he knows I had his child...Now...if he took me to court to get visitations (my child is 8 and he never attempted to see him before) would that be child abandonment ? I want him to have his rights terminated but as of now he has none. He wasnt listed on the Birth certificate and would have to establish paternity of course but I do not want this man in my life!!! What are the chances the courts would allow him to do this after 8 years and child being raised by me and the man he knows as his dad?

House Republicans yesterday declared "something fishy" about the major tuna company in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's San Francisco district being exempted from the minimum-wage increase that Democrats approved this week.
"I am shocked," said Rep. Eric Cantor, Virginia Republican and his party's chief deputy whip, noting that Mrs. Pelosi campaigned heavily on promises of honest government. "Now we find out that she is exempting hometown companies from minimum wage. This is exactly the hypocrisy and double talk that we have come to expect from the Democrats." Washington Times stated today that San Francisc based Star Kist Tuna will be exempt from the new minimum wage bill.

Just last year the Center for Disease Control(CDC) said it asked Mexico to stop sick people from entering America. Illegal aliens are even carrying medicine resistant TB which is contagious and deadly.

The link was taken down probably because of Politically Correct reasons. The warning came out before the Mexican protests.

Here is a backup link to similar information.

Pay attention to "The CDC’s global efforts also include working with officials in Mexico and other countries to improve TB control on the U.S. borders, improving overseas screening for immigrants and refugees and providing diagnoses and care to recent arrivals from countries that have a high incidence of TB"

Who thinks Bush needs to call in the troops and bring them home? Honest truth everybody! I think he does in my opinion! Why are we fighting that war anyways it's becoming a civil war let them deal with it on their own? Why we were perfectly fine with handling the terroists on our own! Don't you agree? Has anybody ever thought that we have our own terroists in our country? Lets name a few KKK, Bank robbers, child molestors, the list could go on people! Come on somebody has to agree with me here!

I ask because it is a fact that U.S. Forces entered/attacked the Iranian Embassy in Iraq yesterday and then today someone attacked the U.S. Embassy in Athens, Greece. The media is calling the attack on the Embassy in Greece an act of terrorism, but NOT the attack the U.S. Forces did on the Iranian Embassy yesterday.

Call me crazy, but I cannot see any difference in the acts. What do you think? Who really are the terrorists? Are terrorists anyone who doesn't agree with President Bush?

NOTE: I realize the media is trying to convince us all that it is possibly home grown terrorists in Greece and that is what makes it an act of terrorism, but I believe it doesn't matter who it is or what Embassy you attack. It's all terrorism or none of it is terrorism.

It is funny how we get attached to a piece of land and we even call it our country just because we happened to born there and we even say that we will died for it,and we even hate when others try migrated there, like if we own the whole city,state.etc. when we don't even know the people next door, we fight every day on the streets for stupid things, we treat our employess like **** or even our members of our family, when we hate our criminals and rapest etc.. all those masses represent our people our country so when someone says I will fight for my people it means I will fight for the millions of humans who I don't even know, not even the 1%of them, all those included criminals, rapest,my enemies, people who I don't just happend to like.etc. Why we don't just called ourselves citizens of the world and live whatever we feel like without worry about stupid attachments. We dont't realized that life wont last forever .Dead turn all the world vanities in to ashes
