I faced this in 1966. On the bus, on the way to the physical there were many, maybe even a majority that didn't want to go. I got lucky and had a physical impairment that I couldn't be drafted with. But many went to 'nam and many didn't come back. Would I let them draft me, no, I am older now and would have objected to it as I felt deeply that we had no business in Vietnam and I would have went with my guts and not allowed them to put a gun in my hand to kill other human beings. But each person has to make their own decision as it really is tough. World War l l would have been a different story, I would have laid down my life to help defend the country..

No because suicide is dedicated by technique of a best act, you won't be able to commit suicide by technique of an omission i do not imagine. that is like in case you should observe someone drown and by no skill help them, you won't be able to be answerable for homicide/manslaughter (until eventually there's a good samaritan rule, which i imagine there is interior the States yet there is definately not interior the united kingdom) - or if you're less than a accountability of care to that individual by technique of distinctive feature of a particular relationship between them (which includes a discern who's less than a accountability to safeguard their baby), in which case permitting them to drown should be classed as negligence. you should seem on the actual act being dedicated (the aspect being finished, interior the energetic truly than the passive), the guy killing you need to be committing homicide, you does not be committing suicide. until eventually there replaced into actual data that you had to die and also you've been in simple terms "getting someone to do it for you", in which case sure it could be assisted suicide.

Well, first of all, the ONLY person who has pushed for the draft is Wrangel (D, NY).

Secondly, if your country calls on you to serve, you should do it. When you go to work, or to school, and they give you an assignment you don't agree with, do you quit? Or do you suck it up and uphold your obligation?

If they wanted to draft me, I'd go proudly. But then again, my family has a LONG history of military service. My ancestors would be SPINNING in their graves if any of us refused. Not to mention my 2 brothers who served - they'd kill me. And rightfully so!

Did my service with no draft.... unlike 95% of political Republicans. It always amused me, the biggest cowards are the ones most stridently hollering to SEND MORE TROOPS SEND MORE TROOPS (long as it isnt them or THEIR kids)

If you have a Draft you need to get rid of the Deferrment system. If everyone is sent then it's fair.

I'd go.

Something occurred to me when I read your question. During the Vietnam war some Americans converted to Islam and then claimed the pacifistic teaching of their faith didn't allow them to go to war and kill others. So they were sent to jail (ex. Mohamed Ali previously Cassius Clay)

Now Bush tells us Muslims hate us for our freedom and so they want to kill us in a war.

Now it makes sense. The Muslims want to kill us in a war for the freedom that they hate which is the freedom we took from them when we threw them in jail because they would not go to war.

So that's what "They hate us for our freedom" means. I could never figure that out.

I tried for four years to volunteer. I had to many opperations and they would let me in. But if they did draft me I would kill anything I seen. They would end up killing me because I would just keep killing everything.

Well now, that depends on who these other people are that I would be drafted to kill. Some I could kill cheerfully. Others, I dunno, I'd have to give it some thought if I were expected to kill innocents.

Ah, another basement dweller who doesn't know how we came to have all of the rights and freedoms most of mainstream America has taken for granted. I'm a veteran of the Iraq War and I'd do it again if my country needed my help--even if it means taking the place of people like yourself.

Don't worry, little Democrats.
Tlhere are enough brave girls enlisting that you don't have to be worried about being drafted.
