I do. And I can't think of a single "crime" people lay at the feet of the UN that the U.S. has not also committed.

I'd say just having them here, "exist" to say the least is helpful within itself. Almost like the police force. They may not be able to solve or stop all crime, but having them here has done a heck of a lot more good than if we didn't have them. The bad people have someone they have to run and hide from or limit their thoughts and plans to commit crimes.

No. I think the United Nations is like any other organization. They come and then they go. The U.N. either needs a face lift, or needs to be voted down. A new organization should come into play. I mean, as you can see. The U.N. with the U.S. told N. Korea to not build nukes. Who made nukes? They told the U.S. to wait before going into Iraq. Did we wait? As you can see both of these alone are giant world events that countries great and small have taken part in. And the U.N. has tried to avoid these things. But humanity takes its toll. Side from the fact that the U.N. is full of people thinking backwards. If you actually did research on the organization you would see what I mean. There are multitudes of things I could point at. But I have not the time. All I can say is, the United Nations needs to be no more.

"To rid the world of the scourge of war"
-the Un charter.
The reality is that there has been nothing BUT war, somewhere, at ALL TIMES, since the Un's inception. Oil for food, the child sex scandal, and you dare say that they are no worse than the US? Wake up, dude. You even put crime in quotes, ffs. Think of the fincancial waste, the ineffectiveness to stop genocide, and to failure to empower poor nations in the African continent to develop any sort of self reliance proves beyond the argument of any reasonable person that the Un has not only been a proven, spectacular failure, but that the history of it teaches us that the Un will, at best, be doomed to stay that way.
Long may it continue to fail, and God help us all if it becomes powerful enough to exert any real influence in the world. It is run by Communists, Tyrants, and Pygmies.

It should be understandable that globally shared ideas and opinions on issues within the global community, in which we live, is an intelligent and civilized way to resolve the global issues that do and will occur.

Sometimes within the understanding and/or delegation of idea, opinion and authority within the UN, we find decisions made, called for, and even executed by single forces within the UN to resolve their own needs towards the resolution of global issues.

Besides the above mentioned reasonings of the UN's purpose, also should be the realization and understanding that comes into consideration, the wherewithal economically, or otherwise, of other countries within the UN, to extend themselves individually in regards towards the solutions to problems within the global community, regardless of any individual countries opinions of a certain issue brought forth, and into discussion, for this very resolution.

Look numbskull. if the USA is such a bad place, pack up your s**t and haul *** outta here.

The U.N. is mostly a collection of corrupt groups that either dislike America, expect America to bail them out of everything, blame America for everything or are too inept to actually make a difference in the world.
The U.N. sat around and did nothing as mass genocide was inflicted on hundreds of thousands of Tsutis and moderate Hutus, in a nightmarish act of ethnic cleansing, in Rwanda in '94.

Cuba, China and Zimbabwe - paragons of human rights - are on the United Nations Human Rights Commission.

And let's not forget the recent Oil For Food scandal.

What 'crime' has the United States committed?

I have to agree with Jack C on this one

But people (not ambassadors to the UN) believe the UN's power is greater then it actually is, and thus do less to help out the rest of the world which off sets negativity to the US. Yes, you heard me, i said the US.

The only major problem with the U.N. is that it's heavily biased towards the general view that the way of the "democratic free world" is the correct way to run yoru country and it does proporgate the westernisation of smaller countries, often against their wishes, as it is seen often enforced that to not do that is to go against the rest of the world and become an enemy.

Yes, I do.

At least now, countries are slower to engage in war.

Anytime war is delayed, in the name of seeking a peaceful, diplomatic solution, the world becomes a better place.

No. The U.N. is so dirty and so totally embroiled in scandal it has gone the way of the League of Nations.

Do you know what the League of Nations was? Did you make it at least that far in public school?

I do as well. It's good to hear all voices, not just those with the most money or strongest armies.
