my son recently took a ride from someone who was drinking(1st mistake) and the person got pulled over and charged with DWI.There were 2 bottles of open beer in the back seat. The cop did not ask my son any questions ie:were you drinking?is one of those bottles yours?but gave him a ticket for liqour other than residence. It wasnt his booze(althought that is really irrevelant here)so can he fight the ticket? or is it just his bad luck to have to suffer the consequences. We live in ontario Canada. Thanks

In California... are you eligible for jury duty when you turn 18 or when you get your license? My friend thinks license, but I thought you had to be an adult!

"WASHINGTON - Immigrants arrested for being in the United States illegally may have been charged up to six more times, for more serious crimes, after they were released by local authorities, new Justice Department data indicate.

The Justice findings by department Inspector General Glenn A. Fine examined the criminal histories of 100 illegal immigrants arrested and then released by local and state authorities in 2004, the latest complete data available. Of the sample group of 100, according to the audit, 73 immigrants were later arrested a collective 429 times — on charges ranging from traffic tickets to weapons and drug charges.

The data suggest "the rate at which released criminal aliens are re-arrested is extremely high," the audit noted. "

I wonder what the picture here would look like if all the twice illegals were gone?

What do you think?

The best way to stop using so much gas is to deport eleven million illegal immigrants! That would be eleven million less people using our gas. The price of gas would come down If you think this is a good solution to both the problems, forward it to your friends.

Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the border. When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq .

Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in the military. Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it.

After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country.

He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot. This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves.

If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo.

The Vietnamese Election had a greater turnout than the Iraq Election

In September 1967, the Vietnamese held an election to decide their own government with an over 80% turnout, better than the Iraqi election. We were told then that this was a new day of freedom for Vietnam, a major breakthrough that would soon allow us to start withdrawing our first forces.

We also heard the same “stay-the-course” rhetoric we’re hearing today, calling those who wanted to leave cowards, and predicting the Vietnamese were well on the way of becoming a free, sovereign nation. Yet, seven long years of bloodshed later, with over 35,000 more Americans killed, and 80,000 more maimed and permanently disabled, with our tail between our legs, in shame and disgrace, we were forced to abandon Vietnam – to “cut and run” … all because we had no idea of the psychology and culture of the people we were fighting. Samething will happen In Iraq. Stay tuned!

My fiance was in the Marine Corps for 5 years...he was in Iraq for the first initial push...he was involved with recovery efforts for the USS Cole...I have so much respect for him and am so glad he is home...but it just seems like he has acquired such an agression from the military...its been 3 years since he was out...I'm sure he had Post Traumatic Stress...but his anger is really bad. I know 4 other Marines with the same problem. One ex-marine friend of his was arrested for murder...I notice it so much with Marines...what is this???

That is a serious corruption charge . She is using her office to promote the use of cheap labor which she is profiting from.

""She led the opposition and voted against the Secure Fence Act of 2006 recently signed into law by President Bush to build a 700-mile fence along the U.S.-Mexican border.

She opposed the Real ID Act of 2005, a valuable anti-terror tool, while bragging that Democrats under her leadership "defeated Republican attempts to restrict the easily forged Matricula Consular card" issued by the Mexican government.

She voted against a bill to make employers such as herself financially liable for hospital costs if undocumented employees seek medical attention, preferring that either taxpayers foot the bill or that hospitals close under the burden, as many are doing throughout the Southwest.

what, aside from writing to my congressional representatives (which I've already done), can I do to help end the "war on terror"? I object incredibly strongly to the so-called spreading of democracy; I think if anything we've only put more terror in. Not only that, we're wasting countless lives, resources, and dollars, all of which could be used much better at home. Plus it's an unjust war based on lies.

Anyway, what can I do? It really doesn't seem like there's anything I can do but wait 'til '08, and that is much too little much too late.

I got a speeding ticket for driving 17 miles over the speed limit. When the courtesy notice came in the mail, it said that I HAD to come to court and that I HAD to pay the amount stated. When I actually go to court.. what do I plead... not guilty or no contest?... what is the difference?

A newspaper reported incorrectly. They showed my name, age and address in the recent court cases in my county. I live in a small village of 12,000 people. Now all the people that read this believe i did this crime...and it was not me. it was someone else with a similar name, different age. it was somekind of sexual assault case. How could a newspaper get this so mixed up? I am imbarrassed, and humilated. My buddy is a police man, he found it online today and told me about it. Is this newspaper liable for damages such as: defamation of character, causing me humiliation and distress? This is a nightmare for me. I know I will contact a lawyer tommorrow. I am so upset, i was hoping someone out here had some ideas. My name is ruined now over this...i already had 2 freinds email me today and ask what did i do! these are my best freinds since kindergarten...can you imagine what everyone else is thinking?
