Dude, either you are a pod, or you were drinking last night my friend! We dont "own" it per say, but we reside here and the government wants to make us feel like we do, so that we will be patriotic and protect it. Now as far as the argument goes that Mexicans own it, i find that to be unrealistic too. Have a good day!

as I posted in another question thread..

Even though Mexico was loosing the war the USA offered to pay for the land as well as forgive debt that Mexicans owed Americans.

The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was the peace treaty that ended the Mexican-American War (1846–1848). The treaty provided for the Mexican Cession, in which Mexico ceded 1.36 million km² (525,000 square miles) to the United States in exchange for USD$15 million. The United States also agreed to take over $3.25 million in debts Mexico owed to American citizens.

The cession included parts of the modern-day U.S. states of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Wyoming, as well as the whole of California, Nevada, and Utah. The remaining parts of what are today the states of Arizona and New Mexico were later ceded under the 1853 Gadsden Purchase.

Because we are citizens of the USA in all 50 states and not Mexico. I don't think you would like it if I broke into your house and started to live there without your permission and expect you not be be angry about it.

You are slightly misguided are you not? I have noticed you still do not forward English very well do you? You probably do not speak it well either... Just because you came here by swimming a river and circumventing every law that we have does not mean that you can say that to us "who do you think you are"? I would wager to say nothing but an insignificant speck in the universe...
Get it right "river swimmer" no owns anything on this earth we use it while we are here... we are just visiting this earth and are gone like a puff of smoke (another words life is short) so take a chill pill and get over your self...And quit crying your clown makeup will run...
Mr: NOT THAT IT MATTERS...

Leaving out the ownership question; the problem is that any time you have such a huge influx of people at once your asking for big problems. Because we aren't doing it right we will all be able to starve together.

As rightfully as any country owns its land. Show me one better.

Why does Mexico think it rightfully owns all the land it stole from the natives? Why does it deny immigrants their rights? Why does the racist Mexican government oppress and harass immigrants? They have a RIGHT to be in Mexico don't they? I mean they managed to get across the boarder.

Why do we own the states... because it is the United states of AMERICA! I am of pacific island descent, but I am proud to be American. Why do Mexicans think it is ok to be proud of mexico and then come and live here in the U.S.? If mexico is sooo much greater, you can stay in mexico. Please do not give the excuse that this use to be mexican territory. Because the truth of the matter is, we bought it. Mexico took the money and now it is America.

2007-01-08 23:12:03 · answer #9 · answered by America... YAY! 3 · 7 3

I think your being Mexican matters a lot.

Take care of Mexico and we will deal with our 50 states.
