The Vietnamese Election had a greater turnout than the Iraq Election

In September 1967, the Vietnamese held an election to decide their own government with an over 80% turnout, better than the Iraqi election. We were told then that this was a new day of freedom for Vietnam, a major breakthrough that would soon allow us to start withdrawing our first forces.

We also heard the same “stay-the-course” rhetoric we’re hearing today, calling those who wanted to leave cowards, and predicting the Vietnamese were well on the way of becoming a free, sovereign nation. Yet, seven long years of bloodshed later, with over 35,000 more Americans killed, and 80,000 more maimed and permanently disabled, with our tail between our legs, in shame and disgrace, we were forced to abandon Vietnam – to “cut and run” … all because we had no idea of the psychology and culture of the people we were fighting. Samething will happen In Iraq. Stay tuned!

First both are alike because they are having civil wars that the US chose to interfer in. Second we do not understand the cultures of these two peoples.
Because of the type of people in Vietnam we were forgiven. This is partially because they need to sell stuff to the west to get money.
Iraq is different because they have Oil. If we screw with them they can sell to China, Russia or India. The people in the middle east are friendly but if you hurt them they are long to forget. I think Vietnam did not create 30,000 terrorist but Iraq....we'll have to wait to see how Kng George's incursion in Iraq wil turn out. I hope I'm wrong. I have to add that the 30,000 terrorist are not necessarily Iraqis.

Last year who supplied half the weapons to the world? The US, of course. Many of the nations supplied were already in conflict, but America wants to bring democracy to the world. $8.1 billion of those weapons went to developing countries, some 45.8% of the total with Russia far behind at 15% and Britain with 13%. This is all about profit and perpetual war for perpetual peace. It costs us $500 billion a year for defense or should we say offense. Then there is the other $350 billion a year for Iraq and Afghanistan. They are essentially supplying weapons to both sides of every conflict in the world. Who are the companies who profit? They are Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, Raytheon, United Technologies, Halliburton, GE, Science Application and Computer Sciences. These are the main American merchants of death. These companies perfect the technology for the next war.

The Vietnamese elections were bulls**t. ARVN soldiers went around door to door asking people if they supported the government or not, and the people who said 'no' disapeared. Therefor the turnout was 100% in favor of the government, so they declared there was no need for an actual election and never held any.

Because at least in Vietnam we were trying to keep Communism from spreading even if we had no clue how to go about doing it.. In Iraq there's just a huge ******* question mark and one obviously weak and now dead dictator who had nothing to with 9/11 or any other **** like that. And here our soldiers are dying for no reason at all and then innocent Iraqis are getting killed in the process. Yes, it's much worse.

It continues to be considered no matter if it really is "worse". We had pulled our troops out of Vietnam and the South Vietnamese stood their floor for 2 years all alone in the previous the Democrats reduce the funding for the hands to help the South shelter itself. We went in to Vietnam to sparkling up France's blunders there. If we reduce and run in Iraq, the terrorists will come right here. Cowards who do not realize our enemies received't shelter our seashores both. they are going to proceed to blame our overseas coverage for a warfare that has lengthy gone on for hundreds of years in the previous there ever become an u . s . of america. If our troops go away the middle East, the Jihadis WILL come right here to proceed their project of convert or annihilate. try analyzing destiny Jihad by way of Walid Phares. do not blame your human being u . s . for issues we did not commence.

Iraq is not worse than Vietnam. Vietnam was much worse and we were having to do much more fighting everyday. In Iraq there is no "North Iraq" with a regular military supported by other superpowers. Most of Iraq is relatively peaceful. We don't have any Rolling Thunder or Linebacker bombing missions going on because we don't need them.
