There are usually bro bona lawyers who work in agencies and shelters for just these sorts of things.
If you have a record there will most certainly be a warrent out as well.
I would suggest you talk to a lawyer and ask that they assist you to surrender yourself, before you do make sure your children are in a safe place and will be looked after.
You would have been aware at some stage that you were required in court so failing to appear will not sit well, it could possibly by an avenue to deny you bail as well.
depending how seriuos the charge was will determine whether you will go to jail.

Don't worry about it...it happened to my dad a couple years ago, and you know when it was from?? 1986!!! He got pulled over for speeding and they realized he had a failure to appear on his record. They did technically have to "arrest" him and brought him to the station (he got to drive in his own vehicle) and all he had to do was pay the fine from way back then. (It was 100$) When he told us all about it, it was pretty funny. Don't worry about it, but you should go "turn yourself in" just so it doesn't happen at a time that is really inconvieniet for you. I am sure the officers, or judge, will understand that it probably happened a long time ago and they will take that into consideration. I'm sure it will be fine, you have nothing to worry about, except maybe a little fine. Good luck!!

Call the police station it was issued from or the court house where you were to appear. My son had the same thing happen and he called the courthouse for instructions on how to handle the problem. The courts worked with him and all turned out well-just don't run and hide from the problem, that will only make it worse! Good luck!

you dont know why??hmmm..at some time you had to talk to a cop to get a warrent unless it's for a bad check..take a 100 dollars and a friend go down to the cort clerks office explained what happend the worst they will do is book you in let your friend bail you out and send you on your way..if you just dont want to go down there by your self call a bondsmen he can find out exactly what happend and the exact amount to get you clear and will help you get it done..dont put this off..

Do you mean you have a warrant for failing to appear?
The best thing to do is to plan ahead. Make arrangements for your kids, get a lawyer (no money=eligible for legal aid) turn yourself in and get it dealt with. In Canada you may be released the same day (depending on your record) with a future court date. Go in on your terms. Don't wait for the police to find you out on the street with your kids. I've arrested parents in front of their kids and it is not a pleasant thing for anyone (me included). If you plan ahead to turn yourself in, your kids may not even find out about it.

Well, you had better 'appear'. Do as previously suggested and call the court/station and find out if a warrant has been issued, if so call a lawyer.

You had to fail to show up at court at some time, call the courthouse and ask them what you should do about it before you get arrested and things get worse.
