What's to prevent them from doing the same number on the Sunnis that Saddam did to the Shi'ia? I've read accounts of Sunni Iraqis trying to hide evidence of their sect, and now there is evidence of a cleansing of Baghdad Sunnis.
Is it more important to quell the Sunni insurgency or keep Shi'ia militias in check before we consider Iraq a done deal?

That may be the reason why he invaded Iraq to verify the claims of WMD and link to A/Q Osama. Why can’t we forgive him? I don’t think just removing Saddam only was his aim at that cost. Some people blame him as if he new Iraq in and out???

I have a hard time thinking that what we have is a true democracy.

When I vote I vote for the lesser of two evils...as does most everyone I know.

How is this a democracy?

Both parties are really on the same team. You have the Republicans that are for the rich....and you have the Democrats that are for special interest.

It's kind of like being asked if you want to shoot yourself in the foot with a 22 or a 9mil.

Know your history people. The U.S. made Saddam Hussein the monster he became. Who gave Saddam his weapons to go after Iran? Who sold him the biological weapons that he used against the Kurds? Who supported him after all of these atrocities? Who then used 2 bogus wars and sanctions that banned everything from pencils to incubators for premature babies to chlorine to purify drinking water killing 2 million including more than 500,000 small children. Regan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II and their cronies supported policies that killed 10-20 times the number of people killed by Saddam. They further armed Saddam and gave him more than $50 billion. That picture of Donald Rumsfeld shaking his hand on behalf of Regan was taken AFTER the NY Times showed he was gassing Iranians. These hypocrites then have the gall to say look at Saddam's crimes - please... Let's hold all killers of innocent Iraqis responsible.

Will we look at the tremendous support Saddam got from the U.S.? Or will it be ignored?

There's been an incident near here where a drunk driver went up a driveway, hit a tree and debris knocked a kid unconsious and broke his finger while shooting hoops. The guy continued through the garage, over an embankment and sunk his SUV in a retention pond. He was released after paying 100 dollars. Seemed like he got off easy considering the damage.

Saddam was a criminal, no doubt about this fact. But he also was a human being, with human rights like all of us, children, women, blacks, whites, serial killers... There is an international law, and laws are made to be respected. Also from you, americans, you are not an exception, you do not have special privileges. And do not tell me that Iraqi Government decided to kill a 69 year old man, because all the world knows that it is your president that gave this order. Do not be surprised if you will come here to Europe and people will insult you on the street: Bush is your president, you are a big democracy and you voted him. Not all of you, for sure, but he represents all of you. You are all guilty, no way out. We thank you because you saved us from fascism and nazism 60 years ago with the blood of your fathers. But today... today is a very sad day for your Nation
