I read the following article a few minutes ago:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20061221/us_nm/immigration_raids_dc

I am absolutely dumbfounded by the statements comparing the raids on illegal immigrants in the workplace to Hitler's roundup of the Jews in the 1930s.

Newsflash: These raids are not for "no reason" as Democratic Party activist Carla Vela said. They are because these people are in violation of our immigration laws.

What the heck keeps these people from understanding that it is illegal for them to enter and work in this country without a work visa, that they are in violation of the law if they do so, and are subject to being deported if they are caught?

Here we have a copule of issues, such as whether "In God We Trust" should be on money, or the words "Under God" being in our Constitution, and atheists are fighting to have these words removed. Is this fair of them to do this?

Again, another example is the definition of marriage. Traditionally, this has been between a man and woman (save polygamy) and gays and lesbians want that definition expanded. While it's all well and good that they love each other, but do we then open the gate to all sorts of oddball combinations, such as adults marrying underage children, people marrying their pets? Where does the line get drawn?

Have Political Correctness and the ACLU gone too far?

80% of the country does not support his Iraq policy, his party just lost BOTH houses of Congress, the experts are all telling him to change course, his generals want a change in strategy, and what does Bush come up with? The idea of sending MORE troops. So now he has everybody talking about whether we should send even more troops into Iraq instead of talking about a major change of policy. Whether you agree with him or not, you have to admit that is brilliant in a way, don't you?

Three men have committed the same crime at the same time (statistically impossible, I know, but for the sake of argument...). All three have never been in any trouble before. All three are 33 years old, 5'10, between 185 and 195 lbs. All three have committed first degree murder. HERE'S THE CATCH: One is white, one is black, one is Asian. Who will get the toughest sentence?

Isn't that a little hypocritical! I mean, if they are so moral and use these morals to win elections, shouldn't that hold true in times of war. If abortion is immoral and is an act of murder, how do they accept the fact that over 250,000 innocent civilians in Iraq have been maimed or killed?

Does that make sense?

How can they be such hypocrites and still think that their morals are more sound!

She has two jobs, works day and though the middle of night. Has two kids with problems that require meds. They lost their medicaid. She busts her butt to share a can of beans basically. So, my question is,seeing how she works hard, spends all her money on family needs, not booze, not drugs, not fun, just bills, why cant she get assistance? If she refused to work, she'd get the help. She's the kind that deserves it,not those who do drugs all day,pop out baby after baby and dont work. Whats up with that?

The practice of an employer forcing an employee to have direct deposit as the only means of getting paid seem like an invasion of privacy by requesting information (bank Acc #) the employer is not entitled too. The employer still issues paper check to outside vendors but has used the fear of damage from storms as the reason why. We are located in Florida.

No and I am not talking about illegal Latinos...I am talking about the IRISH. I am IRISH and Proud. But in the past 3 years we know for a fact that Irish Illegals have been moving in. My next door neighbors(and many others) Who I know for a fact are Illegal Irish are always drinking, fighting against each other, and beating their wives. Many times several of the wives (it’s about 3 families living in a 3 bed. home) have come over begging for my husband and me to help. I feel so bad for these ladies and their children (about 8 children). The husbands dont work nor the women.I am a sahm and I know this. I have called authorities for the disturbances they make, several have been incarcerated for abuse and 2 were deported. Why is it that if they know they are illegal and causing havoc and crime in my neighborhood....aren’t all deported? Why don’t they all go back to Ireland and wreak havoc over there. I have been contemplating calling Child Protective Services.
