A non-citizen can enlist in the U.S Armed Forces. After enlisting, non-citizens can apply for expedited citizenship in approximately three years (normally takes over 5 years). There is restrictions on what occupations you can have and you must become a U.S citizen within 8 years to continue to serve.

From the U.S immigration support website (link below), " non-citizen that is eligible must meet certain requirements: (1) Have an Alien Registration Receipt Card (Green card), (2) Have a bona fide residence established, and (3) Have established a record of the U.S. as their home. Some non-citizens from countries... hostile toward the U.S. may also require a waiver".

I have served with persons from Panama, Philippians, Romania, and United Kingdom. Kind off the topic, but there is approximately 30,000 active duty and 11,000 Guard and Reserve personnel serving in the U.S Armed Forces that are not U.S citizens.

Good luck.

I would assume that any person that is a citizen of the US, whether born as one or becoming one after immigrating here, would be able to serve in the US military. Go to your local Military recruiter and I am sure they would advise you.

Go to the nearest American Embassy and they will have all the information ot go to a US Military Recruiter and
inquire within and they will tell you what to do. It is better to go in person and present any ID that you might have.

They enlist, just like citizens do. You need to have legal resident status first, however.

Go visit a recruiter. They need a lot more troops so they shouldn't turn you down.
