80% of the country does not support his Iraq policy, his party just lost BOTH houses of Congress, the experts are all telling him to change course, his generals want a change in strategy, and what does Bush come up with? The idea of sending MORE troops. So now he has everybody talking about whether we should send even more troops into Iraq instead of talking about a major change of policy. Whether you agree with him or not, you have to admit that is brilliant in a way, don't you?

I think you have the wrong read on what is going on. I saw yesterday that Al Sadr, the Shiia Cleric, who has assassinated other clerics when our forces originally swept through Iraq to Baghdad, is showing signs of playing nice since Bush has suggested sending more troops to Baghdad. Al Sadr's militia has being working hard this entire time, murdering and mutilating the bodies of Sunnis in an attempt to start a real civil war.

I do think that Bush is genuinely brilliant. He has put pressure on Iran though having troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. The people of Iran just voted for more moderate officials in the elections held this past week.

You don't seem to have a god grasp of politics yet. There will be a good deal more talk before any action is taken.

I am not sure where you are seeing the brilliance of this.

Is it because we are now discussing troop levels which is not really a change in major strategy, and that we have been diverted?

That is more a failing on the american people and media for taking the bait and less Bush's intelligence. Any change offered by him would be making the news though.

I think he is just suggesting what is most palatable to him, meaning it involves the least amount of change (and admitting failure) and can be politically spun well.

Sending more troops to Iraq IS a major change in policy.

I think that things have gone so badly in Iraq, the only way to regain control is to send in more troops. No, he is far from a genius.

Yeah, for a guy who says stuff like this:

"Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?"—Florence, S.C., Jan. 11, 2000

"I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family."—Greater Nashua, N.H., Chamber of Commerce, Jan. 27, 2000

"One has a stronger hand when there's more people playing your same cards."—Washington, D.C., Oct. 11, 2006

"Will the highways on the Internet become more few?"—Concord, N.H., Jan. 29, 2000

"I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully."—Saginaw, Mich., Sept. 29, 2000

"Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream."—LaCrosse, Wis., Oct. 18, 2000

"They misunderestimated me."—Bentonville, Ark., Nov. 6, 2000

"We're concerned about AIDS inside our White House—make no mistake about it."—Washington, D.C., Feb. 7, 2001

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we," Bush said in his characteristic third-grade manner. "They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."

Brilliant must be the word! To act and speak so damn retarded and still manage to dictate what he wants in the face of our Nation, yeah, brilliant!

That or someone else actually runs things and he's just a chimp puppet!

I don't know if "brilliant" is a word I'd use to describe Bush. His crony, Rove, is closer to evil genius than he is.

He's a scary man who can't admit he made mistakes or said anything that wasn't 100% honest. He's a man who thinks he has some kind of hot line to God and that God tells him what to do. In its own way, that's as scary as any of the militant Muslims he's trying to fight.

Anytime you mix religion and war, that's like gas and a match. And someone who thinks that God/Allah is not only guiding him, but APPROVING of what he does, that's REAL scary, brother!

Ummmm.. The words " George Bush" and " Genius" just don't belong in the same sentence, just like American troops don't belong in Iraq.

The question mark belongs after the word "evil" in that sentence. Genius is not a term that applies to any member of that nasty little cretin's family.
